The blessing of the triune God

Our congregation received a visit from our District Rector, Shawn Adonis.

We received a bible word out of, 2 Corinthians 13:14 “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”

The work and activity of the triune God are expressed in the closing benediction of the divine service.
The Trinitarian benediction is a powerful divine promise.
The blessing is addressed first and foremost to us personally. Yet it must also have an impact on those around us.
The blessing of God encourages us to live our lives as true Christians.

The District Rector also placed Deacon Oliver into retirement, after 42 years in the ministry.

The Divine service left us inspired and grateful for God's presence and blessing.

On Sunday, 10 May, our Rector conducted the Divine Service and we received the bible word taken from Philippians 3:13–14:
"Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

Message

Let us remain focused on the goal of faith.

Let us remain focused on the goal of our faith.
We must run the race with faithfulness and endurance.
The goal of eternal life is founded on the hope we have been given through the resurrection of Jesus.
Let us commit to completing the race.

Parents brought their children to the altar for Holy Baptism. A rainy, cold Sunday, yet filled with warmth and love in the congregation.

Our seniors also receive a little Mother’s Day treat, perfect for that warm cup of tea after service.

On Monday night we gathered for something truly special. An evening dedicated to encouraging, uplifting, and strengthening our ministers in their sacred calling. In a world that often pulls in many directions, it was a moment to pause, breathe and remember why we serve.

One of the highlights of the evening was hearing from three retired Priests, each sharing from the depth of a lifetime of ministry. Their stories were filled with humility, humour, and a deep sense of fulfilment. They reminded us that the greatest blessings often come quietly. In the hospital bedside prayer, the late‑night call, the youth who returns years later to say “thank you,” the family comforted in grief, the soul strengthened in faith.

Their message was clear: The joy of serving God’s people never fades. The calling remains a privilege.

We reflected on three simple but powerful truths:

Still Called. Still Chosen. Still Needed.

Still Called — because God’s work continues, and He continues to trust us with it.

Still Chosen — not because we are perfect, but because He equips those He calls.

Still Needed — because every congregation, every family, every soul needs a Minister who cares.

The atmosphere was filled with warmth, laughter, honest conversation and renewed commitment. It wasn’t just a meeting, it was a reminder of the sacred gift we share and the incredible responsibility entrusted to us.

As we left, one could feel it:

A deeper unity.
A stronger purpose.
A refreshed spirit.

"Salvation in Christ alone"

On Sunday 3rd May, Sunday divine service was conducted by our Rector Brendan Baxter. As bases for the Divine Service, the Bible word was taken out of Acts 4:12, "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
Priest Stevens was called to serve along side.

Message
Let us remain on the path of salvation

Summary
■ Salvation comes through Christ alone.
■ The name Jesus is synonymous with
authority and saving power.
■ Even in a pluralistic world, faith in Christ remains the only way to God.
■ Our mission is to boldly profess the gospel in word and deed, and to trust in Christ and devote ourselves to him.

60th Wedding Anniversary Blessing

This past Sunday, we had the special privilege of celebrating a truly remarkable milestone, the 60th wedding anniversary of Retired Priest Esau and Sister Esau. Sixty years of marriage is not only an achievement, but a testimony of commitment, patience, love, and God’s sustaining grace.
What makes their journey even more inspiring is the beautiful story of how it all began. When Retired Priest Esau, first met the woman who would become his wife, he approached her with a memorable story, claiming there was a dog in the road and that he had to protect her. A simple moment, a humorous beginning, and yet it became the start of a lifelong love story.

Sixty years of shared laughter, love, and quiet devotion is a rare and beautiful blessing. We celebrated a union that has weathered every season of life with grace, May the love that has carried you through six decades continue to shine brightly. May God and your faith remain at the center of your marriage, guiding and strengthening you always.

Wishing Retired Priest and Sister Esau a blessed and joyful 60th wedding anniversary!

On Sunday, 3 May, the Young People of Wavecrest, Strandfontein Village, Strandfontein Village East and San Remo Congregations gathered for a blessed Divine Service at Strandfontein Village Congregation, conducted by District Evangelist James Faure with a bible word out of 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟔:𝟑𝟑: "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

Priest Neville Pasqualle was called up to serve alongside.

Message:
Let us strive for fellowship with Jesus Christ and for justice among ourselves.

A special Bible reading was done by Deacon Grant De Wet, taken from 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟔:𝟏𝟗–𝟑𝟒, part of the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus teaches what it truly means to live as His disciple, to make seeking the Kingdom of God our greatest priority.
Those who seek the Kingdom of God pursue a close and living fellowship with Jesus Christ now, and look forward to eternal fellowship with the triune God in the new creation.
Summary of the Service:

■ Disciples of Jesus trust in God’s faithfulness and care, and do not allow worries to control their hearts.
■ Disciples of Christ make it their priority to seek the Kingdom of God, pursuing fellowship with Jesus and eternal life above all else.
■ Striving for justice is part of following Christ. God practices justice, and His disciples are called to stand up for what is right.
May we continue to seek Him first, live in righteousness, and walk in true fellowship with Christ.
