We are delighted to share the latest edition of our parish newsletter — by our parishioners, for our parish.

This edition reflects the life of our parish over the past six months, celebrating the people, moments, ministries and events that continue to shape our community.

As we look back, we are reminded of the pillars that guide us: compassion, vibrancy, care, and strong Christian values. These are not simply words, but qualities we strive to live out in our worship, our service and the way we care for one another.

We invite you to take a moment to read, celebrate and reflect on all that has taken place in the life of our parish. Most importantly, we hope you see a reflection of our shared journey, our faith and our community.

We hope you enjoy this edition! ❤️

Celebrating Mary Sumner 🌸 | Mothers’ Union

Last Sunday, our Mothers’ Union led us in a beautiful Mary Sumner Celebration Service, honouring the legacy of Mary Sumner, founder of the Mothers’ Union.

The service was led by our Mothers’ Union, with our mothers also taking part in the Scripture readings, making it a meaningful and special time of worship and fellowship.

A highlight of the service was Mama Tshatshu’s inspiring sermon on being rooted in Christ- a timely reminder of the importance of grounding our lives, faith and service firmly in Christ.

Following the service, the parish was treated to refreshments prepared and shared by our Mothers’ Union, bringing the celebration to a warm and joyful close. ❤️

We give thanks for our Mothers’ Union, for their continued service and dedication, and for the beautiful fellowship they shared with the parish.

A glimpse into a special Sunday at St Cyprian's Anglican Church, Langa.✨

This past Ninth Sunday after Pentecost, our Eucharistic celebration was dedicated to our Confirmation Class of 2026 as they continue their journey towards Confirmation on 16 August 2026.

Our Rector, Rev Siyabulela Tshatshu, shared how proud he is of this year's class, remarking on the remarkable energy and enthusiasm they bring to their formation.

The previous day, the Bishop of Table Bay, Rt Revd Joshua Louw, spent meaningful time with the candidates, offering teaching, encouragement and spiritual preparation as they draw closer to this significant milestone in their faith.

Please continue to keep our confirmation candidates in your prayers as they prepare to publicly affirm their faith in Christ.

🌾 ISIVUNO | Bringing Our Harvest to the Lord 🌾

Yesterday, our parish officially launched Isivuno (Harvest)—a special season in the life of our church where individuals and families are invited to bring their harvest before the Lord as an act of thanksgiving, worship, and faithful stewardship.

To lead by example, our church leadership prayerfully presented their own harvest during the launch, as captured in this video. Their offering marks the beginning of this journey as we encourage the entire parish to participate in this meaningful expression of gratitude to God for His abundant provision.

You'll also hear members of our parish share what Isivuno means to them and why this tradition remains such an important part of our faith and community life.

May this season remind us that everything we have comes from God, and that giving back to Him is both a privilege and an act of worship.

As St Cyprian’s Anglican Church Langa, we mourn the loss of a a dedicated member of our parish, Tata January Tshikila, affectionately as “Sir Thsiks”. A member of our lay ministry and the Bernard Mizeki Men’s guild and more importantly a faithful servant of the Lord. 🙏🏽❤️

We hold his family, our parish and those who deeply feel this loss in prayer and in God’s everlasting love.🙏🏽

"Train up a child in the way he should go..." – Proverbs 22:6

This past Sunday was a joyful celebration of faith, service, and the life of our parish family. We were blessed to have our Sunday School lead the service, reminding us of the important place our children and young people hold in the worship and witness of the Church.

It was also a special blessing to welcome former members of the Serving Ministry, who joined in the service alongside our current servers, reflecting the enduring bond of Christian fellowship and faithful service across generations.

A particularly significant moment in the service was the admission of our new Lead Servers. We give thanks to God for their willingness to answer His call and pray that they may serve with humility, reverence, and joy, guided by the Holy Spirit and supported by the prayers of the parish.

We thank all who participated in making the day so memorable and pray that God will continue to nurture the gifts of all who serve in His Church.

To God be the glory. ✝️
