Daily Commitment: It is not a one-time decision, but a daily, intentional, and often difficult, choice.

Active Obedience: It requires obeying His teachings, not just acknowledging them, likened to building a house on a rock (Matthew 7:24).

Transformation: Following means aligning one's life, values, and character with Jesus' example.

Love as Evidence: True followers are known by how they love one another, as shown in John 13:34–35.

Hold on to Jesus, and encourage each other to do so.

Colossians 2:6-7 - "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."

Hebrews 10:23-25 - "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Earth’s crammed with heaven,

And every common bush afire with God,

But only he who sees takes off his shoes.

The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

And daub their natural faces unaware.

The last line works in contrast to the reverent figure who "sees" and "takes off his shoes" (like Moses at the burning bush). While that person recognises the sacred in the ordinary and responds with reverence, "the rest" remain oblivious to the divine presence all around them.

"The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries" – they're literally sitting around the burning bush (the sacred) but treating it as merely utilitarian, harvesting its fruit for practical purposes without any awareness of its holiness.

"And daub their natural faces unaware" – this is the particularly evocative part. " Daub" suggests they're carelessly smearing the blackberry juice on their faces as they eat. Their "natural faces" remain unmarked by any transformation or awareness of the sacred. They're going through natural, mundane motions – eating, getting messy – completely "unaware" that they're in the presence of something holy.

The image captures a kind of spiritual blindness or inattentiveness. These people are surrounded by heaven, literally touching the burning bush, yet they experience it only as a blackberry thicket. They remain in their ordinary, "natural" state while the divine goes unrecognised.

It's Browning's poignant observation about how most people miss the sacred that permeates everyday life, treating the miraculous as merely mundane.

2026: Are You Ready to Be Changed?

We started the year with a question: What's your expectation for 2026?

Financial breakthrough? A new job? Healing? Restored relationships?

Those aren't wrong. But here's what we learned this Sunday:

What if your biggest expectation for 2026 isn't that God gives you what you want... but that He teaches you to hear His voice?

THE CHOICE: FLEE OR STAY?
Hendrik took us to Jonah's story (Jonah 1:3): "Jonah arose to flee from the presence of the Lord."

Why did Jonah run? He didn't want to share God's grace with his enemies. Our flesh is limited. We can't extend grace without God's Spirit changing us first.

But transformation happens IN God's presence, not away from it.

📖 2 Corinthians 3:18 –
"We are being transformed from one degree of glory to another."

FROM GLORY TO GLORY - Q1 2026

This quarter, we're learning to hear the Shepherd's voice (John 10:4) and follow Him through:

✨ Restoring Grace – God brings us back to His presence

✨ Equipping Grace – God changes us into NEW people who love like Jesus.

✨ Advancing Grace – God sends us out as His Body, His family.

PLANTED, NOT JUST VISITING:
Jesus doesn't just save individuals.
He plants us in His Church

There we grow together, are fed by the Shepherd, and sent out—not alone, but as a family.

We're no longer the world's 🌍—we're HIS ✝️!

But here's the issue:
👉🏽 We run from God's presence like Jonah.
👉🏽 We petition God to fulfill OUR plans instead of surrendering to HIS purposes.
👉🏽 We visit church when it suits us instead of being planted and changed together.

God is calling us to permanence—
to stay, to be transformed, to grow in His Body.

💟 Because transformation doesn't happen in isolation. It happens in His presence, through His Church.

THE PRAYER
"Lord, let us live in the transformation of Your presence. Let us love one another with the change You work in us. Use the testimony of Jesus in us (Rev 12:11) to save the lost sheep You send to us. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

GRACE IS A PERSON.
Grace isn't just a concept.
Grace is a person —Jesus Christ.

When we stay in His presence, planted in His Body, we're transformed —from glory to glory.
