MORNING DEVOTIONAL
8TH SEPTEMBER 2026
PSALM 119:68

Good morning friends.

" You are good and do good. Teach me Your statutes."

The goodness of God is one of His unchanging attributes. It is God's nature to be good. God is good in Who He is and not only in what He does. Because God is good by nature every action and gift from God is also good.
What a wonderful blessing to us to know that everything that God says to us and gives us is good.
James 1:17 "Every good and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with Whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
When we know that God is good we can ask to learn His statutes and way and have confidence that what He teaches us will be good. God's plans for us are always good and are never plans to harm us, but to give us a hope and a future. When we realise how good God is we should want to draw closer to Him, to learn more about Him and how to walk on the right path. His rules and statutes come from His goodness and show us how to live in a way that pleases Him and blesses us.

PSALM 119:67
7TH SEPTEMBER 2026

Good morning, friends.

"Before I was afflicted, I went astray, but now I keep Your Word."

A loving parent will correct their child because they love their children and want the best for them. When a parent sees their child on the path that leads to destruction, pain, heartache, or loss, they will want to correct their child to prevent unnecessary pain. We are God's children, and He wants us to stay on the path that leads us to eternal life. When we stray from that path, God will bring correction. We often see that correction as affliction, and we will not enjoy it at the time. However, if we truly love God and want to walk in obedience, we will appreciate His correction as we mature in our faith.
As the Psalmist says today before God afflicted him with correction, he
went astray. Now, he walked in obedience according to God's Word.
May we, too, receive the loving correction God brings us to return us to the path that leads to abundant life.

PSALM 119:66

Good morning, friends.

" Teach me good judgement and knowledge, for I believe Your commandments. " ( NKJV).

We all need wisdom and the ability to make good decisions. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding ( Proverbs 9:10).
Respecting and believing in the Word of God will mean we trust His Word for wisdom and guidance in our own lives.
God is our ultimate Teacher through His Spirit and Word. We have such limited understanding and wisdom. James 1:5 says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God Who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."
Perhaps you are facing difficult decisions right now, and you need to make a decision that has significant consequences. Ask the Lord to show you, teach you, and lead you in His wisdom. He will never contradict His Word and a peace will come with the right decision. If your decision goes against God's Word or doesn't bring you peace, it is not of God nor is it a decision made in the wisdom of God.
May we seek His wisdom and peace in every decision as we allow His Word and Spirit to direct us.

PSALM 119:65
5TH SEPTEMBER 2026

Good morning, friends.

"You have dealt well with Your servant, O Lord, according to Your Word. "( NKJV).

God is always faithful and always keeps His promises according to His Word.
It is important for us to acknowledge God's faithfulness and to give Him thanks for His faithfulness in our own lives.
We can so often forget God's faithfulness in the past when we are constantly facing new challenges. Recognizing, remembering, and rejoicing in God's faithfulness in the past builds our faith and helps us to have hope for the future.
Let us take time to count our blessings, recognise the hand of God in the past, and be encouraged to have hope for the future.
He never fails His children.

PSALM 119:64
4th SEPTEMBER 2026

Good morning, friends.

" The earth is full of Your mercy. Teach me Your statutes. "

When you look at the world around you, what do you see? Do you only see the decay, the hatred, the evil, the injustice, and the suffering? Or do you still see the mercy, grace, goodness, and kindness of God in the midst of all the evil and brokenness? What we focus on can have a dramatic impact on how we see God. If we only see darkness and evil and are unable to see the hope and goodness of God, we can become disillusioned and hopeless. People often ask me how a good and loving God can allow so much evil, pain, and suffering? If we don't recognize His love and mercy in this fallen world, we too can withdraw from Him. The Psalmist today celebrates that God's mercy and love fill the earth, and because of his revelation of this, he wants to learn more about God.
Let us not lose sight of God's grace, mercy and goodness in the midst of the darkness in this fallen world. May we remember that we belong to an eternal unshakable Kingdom of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. The Light of the world, Jesus Christ, our Yeshua has overcome the darkness and reigns forever more.

PSALM 119:63
3RD SEPTEMBER 2026

Good morning, friends.

"I am a companion of all who fear You and of those who keep Your precepts. "( NKJV).

When we become followers of Jesus and surrender our lives to Him, we are both His disciples and members of the Body of Christ. We are part of a family that loves God and wants to live in obedience to Him. We share the same reverence for God and have a healthy fear of the Lord because He is holy. We share a desire to follow His Word and to be obedient to Him because we love Him.
It is important for us as believers to spend time together. We need one another to encourage each other, sharpen each other, pray for each other, and hold one another accountable. We speak the truth in love and encourage obedience and reverence for God. Who we spend time with is important. Our foundational relationships should be with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who exhort us, love and encourage us so that we can walk in obedience, and then go out into the world to witness to others. Spending too much time in the world, without enough time with Jesus and our church family, will influence us negatively. Bad company corrupts good character ( 1 Corinthians 15:33).
We need our spiritual family and friends. We need to choose relationships with people based on their love for God and their desire to walk in reverential obedience to Him. Let us reflect upon our relationships today and ensure that they inspire us to be more like Jesus.

MORNING DEVOTIONAL
PSALM 119:62
2ND SEPTEMBER 2026

Good morning, friends.

"At midnight, I will rise to give thanks to You because of Your righteous judgements. "

Have you ever purposefully woken up at midnight to praise God? We are prepared to get up in the middle of the night for other reasons, but are we prepared to interrupt our sleep simply to worship God?
In this instance, the Psalmist is not struggling to sleep. He is not already awake and chosing to praise God while he struggles with insomnia. Here, he chooses to get up from being asleep to praise God.
What a wonderful challenge for us. God is worthy of our praise and worship 24 hours of the day.
In the middle of the night He is worth getting up for to worship.

In Acts 16:25-26, Paul and Silas praised God in prison at midnight, and their chains were broken, and the prison doors were opened.
In Luke 6:12, Jesus is said to have prayed all night.
God hears us no matter what time of day we pray. It may just be that in the still of the night and sacrificing that time to come to Him reflects our hearts to truly have intimate communion with God and hear from Him.
Night or day, may we pray.

MORNING DEVOTIONAL
PSALM 119:61
1ST SEPTEMBER 2026

Good morning, friends.

"The cords of the wicked have bound me, but I have not forgotten Your Law."( NKJV)

When we are faced with genuine hardship, persecution, and oppression, how strongly do we cling to God's Word?
The Psalmist does not compromise when going through trials. He holds onto God's Word no matter how much the enemy and the wicked try to restrict him. God's Word needs to be our anchor no matter what we go through. His Word will not fail us.
If we don't choose to anchor ourselves in His Word, we will so quickly be misled, overcome, and defeated.
The Word of God will hold us through any storm. We need to hold onto it.
Be encouraged today to hold on to the unchanging and unfailing Word of God. Heaven and earth will pass away, but God's Word will stand for all eternity.

MORNING DEVOTIONAL
PSALM 119:60
31ST AUGUST 2026

Good morning, friends.

"I made haste and did not delay to keep Your commandments."( NKJV)

The pace of life today is hurried and fast. We are so accustomed to fast food, quick deliveries, and instant results. We are conditioned to expect everything to happen quickly.
However, we are not as quick to obey God's Word.
The Psalmist says that he made haste and did not delay in obeying God's Word.
When we are committed Christians, with fully surrendered hearts walking in faith, we should not hesitate when God asks us to do something. Our obedience should be quick, and we should respond right away. When we delay or doubt, we give the enemy an opportunity to distract us and derail us. If we delay, we often allow our own ideas and feelings to influence us, and this may lead us to doubt, to fear, and we may even be led astray.
God's ways are higher than our ways, and if we wait to obey Him, we may end up not obeying Him at all. Our immediate obedience means that we trust Him even when things don't make sense to us.

If Moses had delayed when standing before the Red Sea, Pharoah and his army may well have destroyed the nation of Israel. Immediate obedience saw God part the waters.
Delayed obedience means we doubt God. It means we don't believe He knows best. It means we don't truly walk by faith. Without faith, it is impossible to please God.
May we learn to trust Him more and be quick to say, " Yes, Lord. " to whatever He asks. He loves us and will never lead us astray.
