Good morning. Get closer to Jesus so that all other relationships come from there.
Colossians 3:12-14 (ESV)
“Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these things put on right relationships [love], which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”
Relationships are where our faith is truly tested and lived out.
Notice how Paul describes Godly relationships not as something that happens without any effort but as something we "put on" like a garment each morning.
Before we interact with our spouse, family, coworkers, or friends today, we are invited to clothe ourselves in patience, humility, and forgiveness.
Relationships will experience friction because we are all imperfect people rubbing shoulders.
When offenses happen, the standard for us isn't whether the other person deserves grace, it’s how how in depth Christ has forgiven us.
Today, our relationships are our first and important mission field.
Choosing kindness over reaction, and patience over frustration, turns everyday interactions into acts of worship.
How can we not love those around us when we are loving Jesus at the same time.
Relationships take time and effort. Today could be the first day that you do or say someting as it pertains to the love of Jesus to those around you.
It starts with us. It starts with me. I love you.
Have the greatest day ever.
