How will you become more like Jesus Christ today?
2 Nephi 31:20

"I know that as we take that one step closer to Jesus Christ everyday that we can become like Him and live with our Father in Heaven!"

Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf explains how He hears Jesus Christ.

Do you pray?

Jesus Christ taught
"And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you." 3 Nephi 18:20

We are promised when we pray for righteous things it will be given us. It may not be in the timing we think it is but the Lord always fulfills His promises.

When was a time your prayers have been answered?

Is baptism essential?

The answer: Yes!

Jesus taught in Jerusalem, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." -John 3:5

And in the New World He taught "I say unto you, ye must repent, and be baptized in my name, and become as a little child, or ye can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God." -3 Nephi 11:38

When we are baptized with someone holding authority from God, we make promises with Him to take His name upon us, to keep His commandments and to always remember Him. If we do those things, God promises us we will always have His spirit to be with us by receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost after we are baptized.

What would it mean to you to always have God's spirit?

God blesses all of His children with spiritual gifts.

Why? Because He loves us and wants to help us become like Him!

"Verily I say unto you, they are given for the benefit of those who love me and keep all my commandments, and him that seeketh so to do;
For all have not every gift given unto them; for there are many gifts, and to every man is given a gift by the Spirit of God." Doctrine and Covenants 46:9, 11

What does it mean to have faith?

We can have faith in many things but our faith must be placed in true and correct things. Because Jesus Christ is our perfect Savior and Redeemer who fulfills all the Father commands Him, we can be sure that Christ will continue to be true to us as we are true to Him. Take the man at the pool of Bethesda.

"When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath." -John 5:6-9

When the man put his faith in Jesus, He was made whole.

What will you do this week to increase your faith in Jesus Christ?

Have you ever heard this teaching of Christ?

Jesus taught,

"Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

-Matthew 18:3-4

Do you ever try to decide which parent you look more like?

We look like our earthly parents, but we also look like our Heavenly Parents!

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." Genesis 1:27

God created us to look and to be like Him! He wants us to always remember that we are His children and He will help us through all of life's challenges.

What does it mean to you to be created in God's image?
