Grandview Church York

Grandview Church York We’re an open & affirming justice seeking church, established in May 2024. Grandview Church is an *open & affirming, justice-seeking church.

Our mission is to be a center of transformation where we partner with God in making gentle our bruised world. Worship is at 9am on Sundays at The Belmont Theatre. Contemporary (guitars) worship, casual attire, nursery for kids, and service lasts 1 hour. Formation Hour for everyone (nursery to adult) happens at 10am. We would love for you to visit! More about us: Jesus Christ calls Grandview Church

to be a fully inclusive church, recognizing the sacred worth of all people, including those of every race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity. We embrace those who are marginalized for any reason. Grandview cultivates respectful discussion of differences among all who seek to love their neighbors. We believe God is love. Beyond that, we are a community of all sorts of people and a wide variety of ideas. We practice a thinking faith that likes questions. We don't take the Bible literally; we do take it very seriously. We make our spirituality active through acts of justice locally and globally.

What does it actually mean to “do justice”?

This past Sunday in our series, What Makes Grandview, Grandview?, we dove into Micah 6:6–8: "He has told you, O mortal, what is good, and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?"

Living out justice isn’t something we do in isolation—it’s built on community, partnership, and action. This week, Pastor Jesse and Grandview member, Pam, shared how Grandview collaborates with incredible local organizations right here in York that are doing the daily work of justice and care:

Rainbow Rose Center — Creating safe, inclusive, and affirming spaces and resources for LGBTQIA+ individuals and families in York and Adams Counties.

York County CASA — Advocating for abused and neglected children navigating the court dependency system.

Friends & Neighbors PA — Providing essential street outreach and daytime resource services for individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

Swipe through to reflect on the message, learn more about these local partners, and find ways to get involved! ➡️

Welcome to September! 🍂✨

As the air cools down and the season begins to turn, we’re leaning into the promise of fresh starts, deeper connections, and new opportunities to walk alongside one another.

At Grandview Church, we believe that autumn is a beautiful reminder of the constant, expanding love of God. No matter who you are, where you are on your spiritual journey, who you love, or what background you bring—you belong here. We are proud to be an inclusive, fully affirming, and justice-seeking community where your whole self is welcomed and celebrated.

As we step into this new month together, may you find moments of peace, community, and purpose.

This week, 14 people from Grandview Church York partnered with Servants to serve three homeowners in York City.

Our team demolished and rebuilt a front porch at one home, stained the exterior stairs at another, and stained a small deck at a third location. Through these projects, we were grateful for the opportunity to care for our neighbors in tangible ways and engage with our local community.

We’re thankful for Servants and everyone who gave their time, energy, and skills to make a difference. We look forward to continuing to serve York City together!

Throughout our "What makes Grandview, Grandview" series, we are co-creating a piece of art! Starting with the foundation of a mirror which reflects all of us, we are adding our weekly "noticings," creating a picture of our colorful community. Every week, each person is invited to write a word that spoke to them during the service. Follow along with us to see our art grow and change. Or better yet ... join us and be part of what makes us who we are!

This past Sunday we heard from Rev. Jesse North as he preached from Matthew 26, a story that we typically only read on Maundy Thursday. But Pastor Jesse encouraged us to have a strong and gentle heart, like that of Christ. "Making Gentle a Bruised World."

Rev. Jesse North started off our new sermon series with a sermon stemming from the Parable of the Mustard Seed. Jesse compared Grandview church to that of a mustard plant - what starts as a small seed slowly but surely grows into a large shrub that offers safety and comfort to others - kinda like Grandview.

"Because here’s the thing – Jacob held onto God. But God also stayed with Jacob through the long, dark night."

This past Sunday we concluded our journey in Genesis alongside the Patriarchs, with our focus on Jacob, as Pastor Liz walked us through the wrestling and the holding on.
