Grandview Church York

Grandview Church York We’re an open & affirming justice seeking church, established in May 2024. Grandview Church is an *open & affirming, justice-seeking church.

Our mission is to be a center of transformation where we partner with God in making gentle our bruised world. Worship is at 9am on Sundays at The Belmont Theatre. Contemporary (guitars) worship, casual attire, nursery for kids, and service lasts 1 hour. Formation Hour for everyone (nursery to adult) happens at 10am. We would love for you to visit! More about us: Jesus Christ calls Grandview Church

to be a fully inclusive church, recognizing the sacred worth of all people, including those of every race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity. We embrace those who are marginalized for any reason. Grandview cultivates respectful discussion of differences among all who seek to love their neighbors. We believe God is love. Beyond that, we are a community of all sorts of people and a wide variety of ideas. We practice a thinking faith that likes questions. We don't take the Bible literally; we do take it very seriously. We make our spirituality active through acts of justice locally and globally.

The teens took over this past Sunday at Grandview York!

Our youth spent the last month thinking about the purpose of a worship service and planning the various elements involved! These amazing young people brought homemade treats for the lobby, greeted and ushered, read the Call to Worship, scripture, and prayers, picked songs, played on the worship team, wrote and delivered the sermon, prayed blessings over the congregation, and more!

Thank you to the youth for leading us in your various roles before and during the service. Thank you to the staff and volunteers who contributed ideas and came alongside us in our planning and implementation. Thank you to our church community for creating a safe space for our young people to use their gifts and try new things, and for receiving and affirming the ways God is working through them!

What a beautiful morning. Thank you, Jesus!

This past Sunday we celebrated Pentecost and heard from Pastor Liz as she left us curious and in "wonder" of the work of the Holy Spirit.

But also...

Pastor Liz gave Grandview York the challenge of being a sign of wonder to the people of York, and therefore "witnesses to the Holy Spirit’s presence, Jesus’s transformative love and God’s hope for the world."

In his capacity as Pastor of Wrightsville Presbyterian Church, our Co-Pastor Jesse North gave the invocation at the community Memorial Day Service in Wrightsville today.
