*[Muharram 1448 AH] New Islamic Year Announcement*

The Central Hilal Committee has confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon for Muharram 1448 AH. Therefore, Tuesday, June 16, 2026, will be the 1st of Muharram and the beginning of the new Islamic year.

As we enter a new year in the Hijri calendar, let us take this opportunity to reflect on our relationship with Allah, renew our intentions, and strive for greater obedience, sincerity, and gratitude.

📅 10 Muharram (ʿAshura): Thursday, June 25, 2026

We’re hosting our Annual Youth BBQ at Zubaida Foundation, insha’Allah.

Come out for an evening of food, games, brotherhood, sisterhood, and a relaxed space to hang out with good company. This is for the youth to connect, unwind, and enjoy time together in a welcoming environment.

[Ashura] Reminder & Collective Duʿā

Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

The Day of Ashura is one of the most blessed days of the year—a day marked by Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, deliverance, and the triumph of steadfast faith.

Join us as a community for a brief reminder, dhikr, and a collective duʿā. In times of personal struggles, family concerns, uncertainty, and hope, there is immense blessing in gathering together and turning to Allah with one heart.

Bring your duʿās. Bring your hopes. Bring your worries. Let us stand before Allah together and ask Him for His mercy, guidance, protection, and acceptance.

Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

On Saturday, June 20th, insha’Allah, our YM Juniors Girls will be gathering for a beautiful session centered around something many people overlook: the power of small deeds.

A smile.
A kind word.
Helping at home.
Praying on time.
Reciting Qur’an quietly when nobody sees.

The most beloved deeds to Allah are not always the biggest — but the most sincere and consistent.

Together, we’ll explore how to build a life Allah loves through small acts that slowly grow into a beautiful garden of good deeds.

Activities & Crafts Include:

Each flower represents a different good deed we want to grow in our lives.

Girls will create a private good deed box filled with hidden acts of worship and kindness done only for Allah.

Weekly Tafsir Recap: Surah Al-Layl, Verses 17–21

In the closing verses of Surah Al-Layl, Allah contrasts الْأَشْقَىٰ — the most wretched — with الْأَتْقَىٰ — the one of highest taqwa.

The surah teaches us that taqwa is not merely a feeling or claim. It becomes visible through sincere action, especially through giving.

True giving is not transactional. It is not for repayment, recognition, praise, or social obligation. It is giving that purifies the soul and seeks only the pleasure of Allah.

وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ
“And surely, he will be pleased.”

The one who gives sincerely for Allah will not be disappointed in the end.

⚠️ The salah will start exactly at 9:00AM and will not be delayed.

🌙 Next Tuesday is the blessed Day of Arafah — a day of mercy, forgiveness, and accepted dua.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah.”

Join us at Zubaida Foundation for a short reminder, followed by dhikr and collective dua as we gather in the final moments before Maghrib, turning to Allah with hope, humility, and need.

We said what we said.

Muslims have been saying this word at every single wedding for 1,400 years — and most people outside the Arabic-speaking world have been spelling it wrong the entire time.

Nikkah with a double K? That’s not just a typo. In Arabic, doubling the kaf with a shadda (ّ) literally changes the word to something else entirely — something you definitely do not want printed on your wedding invitation.

The correct word is Nikāḥ. One kaf. Long “aa.” Soft “h” at the end from the letter ح — not a hard stop.

Ni. KAAH.

And the word itself? It comes from the root ن-ك-ح, used in the Quran in Surah al-Nur: “Marry off the unmarried among you.” It is the precise Islamic legal term for the marriage contract — one of the most sacred institutions in the deen.

Say it right. Spell it right. And maybe share this with whoever designed your wedding card.
