Fr. Mark has been battling cancer for the past year and his medical team believes he may have only hours to days remaining in this earthly life.

Please pray for him as well as the people of the parishes in Athens, Glouster, Pomeroy, and Ohio University.

Due to Deacon Peter’s ordination on Saturday 5/30, there will be no 8am mass or 3:30pm confessions.

The 4:30pm mass will be celebrated as usual.

Bishop Edward M. Lohse will ordain Deacon Ryan Budd and Deacon Peter Stetson to the priesthood during an 11 a.m. Mass, tomorrow (May 30), at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, Marietta. Just a reminder that tonight’s 4:30pm mass will be the extended Pentecost Vigil with a few extra readings.

Mass will be a little bit longer than usual.

This Sunday is the feast of Pentecost.

On Saturday evening, at the 4:30pm Mass, we will be celebrating the extended Pentecost Vigil.

That means that there will be 4 Old Testament readings, a New Testament reading, and then the Gospel - similar to the Easter Vigil.

These are the only additions to that Mass, but it will be a little longer.
