Today, the bishops of the United States are consecrating our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as part of the 250th anniversary of our country’s founding.

At a time when our nation feels divided, anxious, and uncertain, this act is a reminder that our ultimate hope is not found in politics, wealth, power, or technology.

It is found in Jesus Christ.

The Sacred Heart reveals the love and mercy of God poured out for humanity. A Heart wounded for our sins, crowned with thorns, and still burning with love for His people.

This consecration is not about a political party or an ideology.

It is an act of trust.

A recognition that we need God’s grace, mercy, and guidance as individuals, families, and as a nation.

Today, take a moment to pray:

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, heal our families.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, renew our nation.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place our trust in You.

Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

🙏 Prayer : O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, fountain of love, mercy, and compassion, I place all my trust in You. In this First Friday devotion, I offer You my heart, my prayers, and all the joys and sufferings of my life. Forgive my sins and the sins of the world. Fill my heart with Your divine love and help me to grow in faith, humility, and charity toward others. Sacred Heart of Jesus, grant peace to our families, strength to the weary, healing to the sick, and hope to those who suffer. May my heart be united with Yours today and always. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You. Make my heart like Thine, Amen.

NOVENA TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS – DAY 2

SEEKING MERCY AND FORGIVENESS FROM THE SACRED HEART

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, ocean of mercy and unfailing source of compassion, I come before You today aware of my weakness, my failures, and my need for Your forgiveness. You know every sin that has wounded my relationship with You, every moment I have chosen my own way instead of Your holy will, and every time I have failed to love as You have loved me. Yet despite my shortcomings, Your Sacred Heart continues to call me with tenderness and mercy. The Word of God says, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18). O loving Jesus, I place before You my brokenness and ask You to cleanse me with Your Precious Blood. Wash away everything that separates me from You and renew within me a pure and humble heart.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, You revealed the depth of Your mercy through Your life, death, and resurrection. You welcomed sinners, healed the wounded, forgave those who persecuted You, and never turned away anyone who sought You with sincerity. The Scriptures remind me of Your loving invitation: “Whoever comes to Me I will never cast out” (John 6:37). How comforting it is to know that no failure is greater than Your mercy and no soul is beyond Your reach. Lord Jesus, when shame and guilt weigh heavily upon me, help me to remember that Your Heart remains open to receive me. Give me the grace of true repentance and the courage to return to You whenever I fall.

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, teach me not only to receive mercy but also to extend mercy to others. So often I desire forgiveness for myself while struggling to forgive those who have hurt me. Yet Your Word teaches, “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful” (Luke 6:36). Remove from my heart every trace of bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness. Help me to forgive as You forgave, to love as You loved, and to show compassion even when it is difficult. May Your Sacred Heart transform my heart into an instrument of peace, reconciliation, and healing for those around me.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I now place before You all my sins, weaknesses, wounds, and personal intentions, trusting completely in the mercy that flows endlessly from Your Heart:

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my confidence in You. May I never doubt Your willingness to forgive or Your desire to draw me closer to Yourself. Let me always remember the promise of Your Word: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Draw me ever deeper into Your Sacred Heart, where mercy triumphs over sin, love conquers fear, and grace renews all things. Amen.
