Yes, God is still on His throne and is in control. But He does allow humans to choose whether they will listen to Him or listen to satan. Sadly, as the percentage of the population listening to satan grows greater and greater, we are seeing the passing of laws that support sinful practices: abortion, pe******ia, same-sex “marriages”, trans-genderism controlling society…
Maybe some wonder how God can allow such sinful practices to grow in their control of our world. He allows it because humans have the freedom to choose whether they listen to Him or to satan. In such troubled times, we need to remember that the situation that will trigger Jesus’ return is that “…it will be as it was in the days of Noah, when every thought and imagination of their hearts was only evil, continually.”
So, the Christian’s responsibility is to share the Gospel with others through word and deed, and to be faithful unto death. From our Lord’s own words of warning, prior to His return, humanity will have so corrupted the world that it will be an awful place to live —- but we look toward that new heaven and earth, where there will be only righteousness.
