Sunday School: Prophetess White

You cannot heal in the same environment that made you sick.

Scripture tells us: “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.” (Isaiah 43:18 KJV) Healing requires distance from destruction. God did not design us to live in sick soil, but instead He wants us planted in good ground. If Jesus had to remove himself from the crowd to pray and get instruction from His Father, what makes us think we would be any different? We have to do the same. There are many times we are emotionally attached to what is spiritually killing us, and it is only God who can do the cleaning up of our heart and renew a right spirit within us. So take the step away from the noise, away from what’s keeping you in bo***ge, and move toward the arms of the Father who cannot only love on you, but He can make all things right.

Fight to avoid spiritual idleness.

We must be vigorous in getting spiritual understanding. An idle man makes himself a target for the devil, and the devil has a pretty good shot. We avoid this by seeking God diligently. Scripture tells us: “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” (Romans 8:5-6 KJV) Being spiritually minded is respecting the Truth of God. And the truth is, God is a Spirit. We cannot know Him in the flesh. Take the time, energy, and effort to learn of the Spirit and be Spiritually minded. It’s literally a life and death decision.

Do not confuse forgiveness with reconciliation.

Jesus commands us to forgive, but He also shows us that forgiveness doesn’t equal immediate reconciliation. Our heart does indeed forgive, but access can be revoked. It’s protecting and guarding your heart and scripture commands us to do it. “Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23 KJV) We must let wisdom rule our lives. Wisdom remembers what pain taught. Allow God to govern your thoughts and guide you in all matters of reconciliation. He will show you that time will reveal motives and His Word teaches us how to set healthy biblical boundaries. If Jesus did it, we should too!

Fight for spiritual discernment.

When it comes to matters of your heart, only authenticity will do. Our heart must be guarded against fakes and phonies, hidden motives, and other things trying to gain access to a sacred part of you. We have to be proactive when it comes to dealing with the heart, not reactive. Scripture says; “For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” (Hebrews 5:13-14 KJV). This means we have to get strong in the Word of God so we are able to practice what we know to be true…proactively. Spiritual discernment will help you see through the lookalikes and save you a lot of heartache, but you have to be willing to move on from spiritual milk, to meat. That takes effort, consistency, and time with God. It’s time to grow up and move from milk, to meat.
