For years, our lives have been endlessly busy. The busier we are, the more important we tend to feel. Busy moms, sports parents, dinners in front of the TV or grabbing a bite to eat in the car. We’ve substituted quality time with the busy life. It’s like we’ve been on a merry go round that doesn’t stop. Now the merry go round has slowed down, and for others, it has completely stopped. We seem lost; not knowing what to do without rushing around in our lives. We didn’t choose to stop the ride; it simply was slowed down for us.
Personally, for me, I remember going to the store four to five times a week, or more (my husband would say). I would shop for great deals, and now I try not to go into a store more than once a week, and can’t get a good deal on any of the supplies we need.
So, what’s next? God has given us a pause. Maybe it’s a re-set. Only our Heavenly Father knows how long this pause will last; but during this time, we need to be mindful what we choose to do. Spend time with those you can. Sit down at the dinner table with your family; watch a movie together at home. Call family members you can’t visit, or do a quick safe wave-by from your car. Face-Time with your friends or co-workers you don’t see daily anymore. It’s not all about just working from home or being a new substitute teacher for your kids while they are home. Take time to pause. Take a deep breath (6 feet away from others), and seek Jesus!
Pray! Seek Him! Allow Jesus to Rise Up! This is HIS TIME! Soften your heart; draw closer to Him!
