TEACHING TUESDAY

Sometimes you just have to climb a little higher to see Jesus.

As we learned through the Children’s Sermon with Sis. Dorothy and the Sunbeams, the story of Zacchaeus reminds us that being in a crowd doesn’t always mean you can see clearly.

So, he climbed a tree, just to get a better view of Jesus.
And what he found was more than he expected because Jesus didn’t just pass by. He stopped, looked up, and called him by name.

That same truth still stands today: you may feel overlooked, like you’re in the middle of everything but still unseen… but Jesus sees you. And He knows your name.

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10

New Bethel AME and Friends and Family, maybe today is your reminder to climb a little higher in faith.

Good Morning....This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Just a little Sunshine to brighten your day! On this first day of June let us reflect on, “This Little Light of Mine… I’m gonna let it shine.”
Look at it shining. New day. New week. Same God.

As we step into this Monday, we’re reminded of a simple truth our children sing so freely… “This Little Light of Mine.”

And maybe that’s the word for today, don’t hide it, don’t dim it, don’t wait for the “right moment”.

Just let it shine.

Whatever this week brings, walk in it with your light on full. Somebody is going to need your smile, your strength, your faith, your testimony.

So go ahead, shine anyway.

“Let your light so shine before men…” : Matthew 5:16

What a fellowship, what a joy divine!

Today’s Family Empowerment Service was nothing short of amazing! We switched things up a little, and it was such a blessing.

Our musician, Bro. Todd, was on fire as he led both New Bethel’s Choir and the Sunbeams Choir! We were blessed with a mini lesson and children’s sermon from Luke 19:1-10, the story of Zacchaeus, and then the Sunbeams truly blessed our hearts in song.

Afterward, we broke out into groups, the women, the men, and the children and had some real, meaningful conversations. The discussions were powerful, honest, and right on time.

A huge thank you to our facilitators: Evangelists Shanna Huff-Green and Linda Twyman Ebron, Brothers Carl Woodridge and Terrell Myers, Pastor Lauren Whitfield, and Sis. Dorothy. Thank you all for helping create a space where connection, encouragement, and growth could take place.

And of course, we cannot forget about the food! Thank you to the hands that prepared and served such a wonderful meal. Your love was felt in every bite.

Today reminded us that church is more than a service, it’s fellowship, family, learning, laughter, and growing together.

What a fellowship, what a joy divine!

Please help us congratulate Evangelist Linda Twyman-Ebron and Evangelist Shanna Huff-Green on their continued dedication and commitment to the Evangelism Ministry here at New Bethel.

We thank God for allowing them to see another Conference Year and for the love, service, encouragement, and faithfulness they continue to pour into our church family and community.

Their willingness to serve, uplift others, spread the Gospel, and represent Christ through ministry does not go unnoticed. We are grateful for the value, compassion, and spiritual leadership they bring to New Bethel.

“And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15

May God continue to strengthen, guide, and bless them as they continue the work He has called them to do.

It's What's the Word, Wednesday!

Sometimes God will remove distractions so you can clearly hear His direction.

Not every closed door is punishment.
Not every delay is denial.
Sometimes God is simply shifting things around you so you can focus more on Him and less on the noise.

In a world filled with distractions, busyness, worry, and confusion, God still desires quiet moments with His people. Moments where we pray, listen, grow, and trust Him completely.

“Be still, and know that I am God...” Psalm 46:10

As you go throughout your day, take a moment to reflect:

What distractions might God be asking you to release so you can grow closer to Him?

May your heart remain open to His voice, His timing, and His direction.

Testimony Tuesday

As we reflect on the testimony shared by Sis. Dorothy, we are reminded that God is still faithful in every season.

Sometimes life brings moments when we are down to our last few dollars and wondering how we’re going to pay a bill, buy groceries, or make ends meet. We have all faced times when we needed “just a little more.”

But time and time again, God shows up right on time.

That unexpected blessing
That extra provision
That phone call
That helping hand
That “somehow it worked out” moment

That’s God moving.

Sis. Dorothy’s testimony reminded us that even in difficult moments, God never stops providing and He never stops making a way for His people.

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
