New meeting facility with better visibility in NC...

(Home Missions Today) David & Leah Vogel
Kannapolis OPC
Kannapolis, North Carolina

Pastor David Vogel reports, “Our church recently finalized an agreement to rent space at the local YMCA and plans to begin meeting there on Sunday, May 24. It appears to be a very promising location, with valuable opportunities to increase our visibility within the community. On May 9, we held our first 'Second Saturday Outreach' service project. The project involved a small porch repair for an elderly widow and required only me and one member of our congregation, but it provided opportunities to introduce ourselves to neighbors and share about our church through a Facebook post. Recently, a school social worked connected us with a single mother recovering from a foot injury who needs assistance with yard work. We hope to make her home our June outreach project. Please pray for fruitfulness in ministry, for effective evangelism, and more opportunities for community outreach.”

Gospel opportunities in Michigan...

Living Hope OPC
Moline, Michigan

Pastor John Terrell reports, “In April, the Lord provided many opportunities to witness to non-believers, which was both encouraging and a clear answer to prayer. Attendance at our church also increased. While attendance continues to ebb and flow, we remain hopeful and encouraged by the Lord's work among us. One man we had the opportunity to witness to begin attending our church services for a time but has recently stopped coming. Please pray that he would return and that lives would be transformed through the knowledge of the Gospel.”

Progress in the early days in Philly...

Fox Chase Reformed Church
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Pastor Jon Jung reports, “We began meeting in September of last year with twice-monthly evening services. Since then, we transitioned to weekly evening services and now to weekly morning services, including the regular observance of the Lord's Supper. God has blessed us with a steady stream of visitors, some of whom are considering membership. Our prayer is that those who have visited Fox Chase Reformed Church would make it their church home. Please pray for wisdom as we consider the next steps for ministry and in reaching the community. Please also pray God would draw people to Himself through these efforts.”

Reaching the Spanish-speaking people in Springfield, Ohio...

Iglesia Presbiteriana Alfa y Omega (OPC)
Springfield, Ohio

Pastor Jefferson De Oliveira reports, “Consistent attendance at our worship services and Bible studies have been a defining encouragement for our congregation this spring. We also recently rejoiced in the baptism of a covenant child. Each Tuesday, I preach the word of God at the ESL ministry of Light of the Nation OPC, and throughout the week I participate in local community activities. These opportunities allow me to build relationships, share the gospel of Jesus Christ, and invite people to church. I am also leading discipleship classes with a young man who approached me expressing his desire to surrender his life to Jesus and be baptized. Praise the Lord! In addition, we thank God for the recent birth of our fourth child. Ellen and the baby are doing well and recovering. Please pray that our church will grow in love for Jesus Christ and devotion to His word.”

Students, young people, and babies in VA...

(Home Missions Today) John & Erin Nymann
All Saints OPC
Suffolk, Virginia

Pastor John Nymann reports, “The Lord has blessed us with three young men who have recently moved to the area. Two are relatively new to the Reformed faith, while the third is currently a member of a PCA church in Tennessee (and was previously a member of an OPC church). Two of the three men are interested in pursuing membership. We are also thankful for several local students who regularly attend our services. While many will return home for the summer, we are grateful for the opportunity to minister to them during the school year. In addition, the Lord has blessed our congregation with several recent births. On April 27, my wife, Erin, gave birth to our son, Owen! Both mother and baby are doing well. Please pray that frequent attenders would be moved to unite with the church through membership.”
