Today is Epiphany. Today is the day we celebrate God revealing Godself to us through the birth of Jesus, the incarnation, God taking on the form of humanity.

Epiphany is also know as Three Kings Day, the day the Magi arrived to greet and worship Jesus. It is celebrated with light and cake. We celebrate light because we know Jesus as the light of the world.

This is also the day that ends the season of Christmas and traditionally the day when, in Christianity, the trees and wreaths are taken down. The Twelve Days of Christmas have come to an end. This Sunday, January 8th we will commemorate and contemplate Jesus Baptism and renew our Baptismal vows.

Please take a moment to think about the wonderful, mystical thing that God has done and pray this prayer from the BCP.

O God, by the leading of a star you manifested your only Son to the peoples of the earth: Lead us, who know you now by faith, to your presence, where we may see your glory face to face; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Happy New Year! As you celebrate the coming of the New Year celebrate safely, give thanks for our many blessings and remember that there is one service only tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. Look forward to celebrating our God always with us and for us, in person, on ZOOM, or on Facebook live!
