🪱🛟 Grade 3 STEM Challenge 🛟🪱

Fred the gummy worm was out boating when his boat (a cup) tipped over! 😱 His life preserver (a gummy ring) was trapped underneath the boat, and he needed our help!

Working in groups, students had to use ONLY 4 paper clips to rescue Fred and get him safely into his life preserver—without using their hands! 😂

This challenge was a fun way to practice teamwork, communication, creative & critical thinking, and problem-solving while working together toward a common goal.

And the best part? Every group successfully saved Fred! 🎉👏 Way to go third graders! 💙💛

We had such a fun kick off tonight to the new school year! Thank you to all of our families who joined us for Open House this evening. We loved seeing so many familiar faces, and welcoming new members to our St. Francis Xavier School family! ✝️
