Original East Texas Baptist Association Congress of Christian Education was truly a blessing, and our New St. Matthew MBC youth showed up strong!

This year brought a little nostalgia as I listened to the children excitedly share what they learned in class each day. They couldn't wait to tell us about their lessons, activities, and experiences. The excitement was contagious! Every day ended with the same question: "Will someone be picking us up tomorrow? We can't be late—we have to be there every day!"

Not only did our youth participate, but they also excelled in competition:

🏆 Zavery McGrue – 2nd Place, High School Scripture Search
🏆 Caylee Johnson – 3rd Place, Middle School Scripture Search
🏆 Kayleigh Rush – 3rd Place, 6th Grade elementary Storytelling
🏆 Cori Wortham – 1st Place, High School Scripture Search
🏆 Cori Wortham – 2nd Place, Senior Essay

We were also blessed with a wonderful surprise when President Reginald Long announced the Reginald Long Scholarship in honor of his late father. What an incredible blessing and tribute!

Additionally, Cori had the opportunity to serve on Dean Johnson's staff for yet another year. We even had two of our own win prizes for just attending, being on time, and participating!

We are so proud of every young person who participated, volunteered, competed, and represented New St. Matthew.
