Matthew’s Food Pantry at Eakle Chapel was blessed by a wonderful freezer. When the Ladies’ Aid first started discussing all the possibilities that Matthew’s had, they knew that a freezer was in Matthew’s future. So, all the ladies prayed about it and were fully aware that God was working on the situation. The Lord came through for the pantry! This freezer is indeed proof that prayers do work.
With the addition of this freezer, we at Matthew’s Food Pantry will be able to assist families and individuals with a larger variety of healthy meal options. Matthew’s averages helping approximately 20 people a month. We do distribution every 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, but Lori Hurley and Lena Hoke have made sure to be able to assist persons in need of immediate assistance by appointment.
Not only does Matthew’s Pantry offer meal and meal prep items, but it also offers cleaning supplies, first aid kits, and many personal care items. We do not leave out the Fur Babies either; Matthew’s distributes dog and cat foods also. Matthew’s accepts donations both items and money.
Matthew’s Food Pantry is not done yet. We are anticipating more features on the way to help us spread the Gospel and the Works of Jesus Christ by caring for the needs of our brothers and sisters. For questions, donations, or immediate assistance please contact Lori Hurley at (304)319-4534.
