The Scripture Habit

The Scripture Habit Join Pastor Rebecca M-W, 8:30a EST for live study. Develop the habit of getting into Scripture.

(We will also give a prompt with suggestions for self study on Thursday, helping you get into scripture at least 4x a week!) TSH is a resource/community offered to help you develop the habit of reading scripture every day.

I’ve received a few messages lately asking when TSH will return, so I thought I’d share an update here:
Yes I will return with offering TSH - but I have to significantly alter the way we’ve been offering it, and I’m a little blocked at the moment and not feeling ready to pull the trigger. Fb has changed a great deal since we first started, and they now remove our videos after just 2 weeks (sometimes they’ve disappeared earlier than that). It is a *lot* of work to try to frame a live experience for it to be deleted so quickly. The solution involves taking it off fb, which we can do but it’ll lose the live feel that we’ve come to love.

It’s just a big change… and I’m a bit grumpy about it still, lol. Resentful of having to pull the trigger, so I’ve not done it yet.

…but I will.

I felt that perhaps this was Gods way of helping me take a break until our house is finished…? 🤷‍♀️. I don’t know for certain.

TSH will return, though we will move it to a different platform than Facebook. And when we relaunch (most likely fully over to YouTube) I will make sure to let all our people know. I’m sorry that it’s taking a while to make the transition over. Thank you for your supportive notes and encouragement during this time. It’s rewarding to know that the work put into TSH meant something to someone. ❤️. Blessings, friends.

Good early morning friends. I am working to have recovered videos uploaded to YouTube for this week and next. I apologize for not being able to go live. FYI while Facebook seems to delete our videos after 30 days, YouTube carries our complete archive of videos. I’m working through a plan for us to address this better long term while still getting to do lives.

Hello friends! Tomorrow I will be sharing the study video in the afternoon hours instead of 8:30am.

10/21/2025

We will return this morning!!! 8:30am est we will jump back into our Revelation study in chapter 13, “The Beast of the Earth”. See you soon!

Heads up friends: I will need to take the next two weeks off from offering The Scripture Habit in order to be all hands for our house build. We’ve hit a critical point where a few things need to be completed (before it gets too cold). I committed to give 100% of my availability to helping knock this stuff out.

So! I will return to offering live videos in 2 weeks, Monday October 20th!

I sincerely apologize for the pause in our study and I GREATLY appreciate the grace and support you all offer.

Friends!!! This is the book I was quoting on Wednesday when we were talking about prayer and wandering thoughts. The title might make you wonder if it’s a gimmick spiritual thing - but I promise you, it’s beautiful and scripturally centered. The whole focus is on developing spiritual disciplines in your life, and I highly recommend. ❤️👍

🔔 Seals & Trumpets… what’s the connection?
We just wrapped up Revelation 11, and today’s prompt is a perfect moment to pause for your own study and reflection on the Seals and Trumpets. Comparing the two, where do you see parallels or contrasts?

✍️ Try journaling through these questions:
• What echoes or contrasts do you see between the seals (Rev 6–8:1) and the trumpets (Rev 8:6–11:19)?
• What do these patterns show you about God’s justice and mercy?
• How is He calling you to respond?

📖 Take a quiet moment this week—just you, your Bible, and your journal—and see what God reveals.

Reflective Response Prompt – The Locusts (Revelation 9:1–11)

John’s vision of the locusts is one of the most vivid and unsettling passages in Revelation. Throughout history, believers have read this passage through different lenses:
- some see it as describing events already fulfilled,
- others as John’s response to Roman oppression,
- still others as a prophecy of future events, and
- some as a symbolic or metaphorical picture of spiritual realities.

As you journal, reflect on this question:
How does the lens you bring to Revelation shape the way you understand the locusts?
• For example, someone who views Revelation as Past History might connect the locusts to a specific army or empire.
• Someone who sees it as Resistance Literature might hear it as coded critique of Roman rule.
• A Futurist lens could interpret the locusts as a literal future army, advanced weaponry, or even demonic beings yet to come.
• A Symbolic/Idealistic/Poetic lens may see them as representing spiritual torment, chaos, or the destructive consequences of sin.

Journal Prompt:
Which of these lenses (or a combination of them) do you find yourself leaning toward, and how does it affect the way you respond to the passage? What does this reveal about your understanding of God’s justice, power, or the reality of spiritual conflict?

****comment “I Journaled!” when you’ve completed, AND if you’re willing I’d love to hear a reflection or two from you as you processed this on your own! Share!
