A Prayer for the New School Year

Heavenly Father,

As students return to school today, we ask You to watch over each child and young person. Keep them safe as they travel to and from school, protect them throughout each day, and surround them with caring teachers, friends, and adults who will encourage and support them.

Bless their minds as they learn new things. Give them curiosity, patience, perseverance, and a willingness to try—even when something is difficult. Help them discover the joy of learning, making new friends, trying new activities, and all the fun that comes with a new school year.

Bless their teachers and school staff with wisdom, patience, and strength as they serve and care for their students. Help them see the unique gifts You have given each child.

Most of all, remind our students that wherever they go, You go with them. When they are excited, nervous, successful, or struggling, help them remember that they belong to You through Jesus Christ. Keep them rooted in Your Word and growing in faith throughout the year.

We place this school year into Your loving hands and ask that You bless it with safety, learning, friendship, laughter, and many opportunities to see Your goodness.

In the name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray.
