REDEEMER NOTES AND NEWS
September 6, 2026

Fall Bible class and Sunday School
The summer went fast but we are excited to have our Bible study and Sunday school activities begin again on September 13 after worship from 10:50–11:40am. During our Bible Study will dive deeper to answer questions and make applications from the Bible readings and sermon.

Pastor Visits | Pastor Cortright has done about 20 visits and is looking to fill his September visiting schedule; he can come to your home or meet you here. Please check the sign up in the entryway for an available time.

Holy Smoke | It’s not too early to start planning. Our annual Holy Smoke event will be on Saturday October 3 from 11am to 1pm. We will be looking for teams to compete in the grilling and smoking department and volunteers to help set up, serve drinks etc. Look for a sign up at the Info Center!

Food Drive | Starting September 27th and running through October 4th we will be conducting our annual food drive for Neighbors Place. All donations can be left in the entryway. The Holy Smoke event will also feature donating non-perishable items and financial help as well.

Fall Rally | The LWMS rally will be held October 17th from 8:30am to noon at Our Savior’s Church in Wausau, more details to follow!

Redeemer Choir | Calling all singers! Redeemer’s choir has begun practice join us every Sunday at 8:45am.

Check out the Info Center | The bulletin board in our church entryway serves as a hub for information at Redeemer. Stop by the Info Center and see how you can get involved!

Women’s group | Our Pew Sisters women’s group will meet on Thursday, September 17th at 4:30pm. We’ll discuss plans and goals of the group and ways we can encourage each other with God’s Word. Children are welcome and childcare will be available. If you’re unable to attend but want to share ideas or stay in the loop, talk with Sarah Cortright.

Dime and Dollar Thrift Store - Wausau| Redeemer supplies volunteer workers for every second Saturday of the month. Please consider volunteering for a morning (10am-1pm) or afternoon (1pm-4pm) shift. Our next shift is Saturday September 12th. A sign up is available in the entryway. Dime and Dollar’s mission is to support Northland Lutheran High School.

Sunday Morning Prayer

Father God, we have become your children through the faith your Holy Spirit has worked in us. Fill our hearts with gladness as we hear your lifesaving Word proclaimed to us today. Top them off with joy! Accept our heartfelt worship as we speak to you through liturgy, hymns, and prayers. Impress upon us that it is your voice that is speaking to us as your Word is read and expounded. And as we hear you speaking to us, help us listen, believe, and obey. Amen.

Saturday Morning Prayer

Give me a compassionate heart, dear Lord—the kind of heart you have for your creatures. Make me sensitive to other people’s needs, and give me hands that are ready to help. Teach me to weep with those who weep and to rejoice with those who rejoice, that our bonds of Christian love may grow. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Friday Morning

Lord Jesus, you are God, and “salvation is found in no one else” (Acts 4:12). I thank you that you came into this world, endured its hatred, and suffered death on a cross to save sinners like me from the consequence of our sins. Your grace knows no bounds. Watch over those I love and keep us all safely in your care. Amen.

It’s never too early to plan ahead!

The LWMS Fall Rally is coming up October 17th from 8:30am until noon. There will be treats and a keynote speaker and lots of fellowship.

This Fall’s event will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Wausau, I would put this on my calendar now!

Thursday Morning Prayer

Give me, I pray, the heart of a servant. How sluggish I am to be generous with my time, my talents, and my treasures. Forgive me for my selfishness. Let me find satisfaction and joy in humbly serving others, which glorifies your name. Hear me for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
