Our history began with Ozell Rushing Sr. It began in 2003 with Bible class each week at the home of his beloved daughter Darlene Rushing with family and friends. On September 19, 2004 he was ordained as a minister. He began the search for a location, and on October 30, 2005 we began our weekly services at Hamilton Park Field House in Chicago, IL. Ozell Rushing Sr. The following Sunday, the Church came together and decided to keep Pastor Rushing’s dream alive and the process began to look for a new pastor with Min. Franklyn Rivers acting in the interim. On October 15, 2006 Rev. Richard Griffis was voted in as pastor of Love Ministries. Pastor Griffis was installed on November 19, 2006. The first church picnic was August 12, 2007 held on the grounds of the Hamilton Park Field House. It has become a Church yearly tradition, and anyone who has attended, states it’s a true fellowship experience. Love Ministries closed on our current place of worship at 774-776 StateLine Road, Calumet City, IL in December 2009 with no mortgage, “All praises be to God”. On Wednesday, January 20, 2010 we walked in as a family into our new church home. Our hearts were saddened once again with the passing of Pastor Richard Griffis on December 31, 2016. We continued Growing Stronger, Growing Deeper, and Reaching Higher. On May 7, 2017 Rev. David D. Rogan started as Interim Pastor. On June 25, 2017, Rev. Rogan was voted in as Pastor of Love Ministries. Rev. Rogan was installed on Sunday, July 30, 2017.
