90+ Spotlight: Hank Wadsworth

This week, we are excited to shine our 90+ Spotlight on Hank Wadsworth!

Hank has been part of Federated Church since its beginning and has a wealth of knowledge about Federated’s history. His story is rich with memories, but perhaps one of the most beautiful threads woven throughout his life is the simple power of an invitation to sit around the table.

Whether it was gathering around the table after church with the Saints and Sinners group or welcoming a group of Purdue students into his home, Hank’s house was often filled with people, conversation, laughter, and stories. There was always room for one more at the table.

That spirit of hospitality continues today as Hank enjoys sharing meals and conversations with others at Westminster. Whether you join him for a cup of soup in the Pub for lunch or dinner in the dining room, you can be sure there is a story to share, a conversation to enjoy, and life to experience together.

We are grateful for Hank and the many ways his life has enriched Federated Church and the people around him. His story reminds us that sometimes something as simple as an invitation to the table can become a meaningful part of someone’s story.

This past Saturday, our Youth Group gathered to prepare and serve food at the LUM Shelter. We’re so grateful for opportunities like this to serve alongside one another and be a light to those experiencing homelessness in our community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this evening possible! We’re thankful for the chance to put our faith into action and show God’s love through serving others.

Water Olympics Recap!

This past Friday, we had an amazing evening at Water Olympics! There was plenty of laughter, fun, and a little friendly competition.

We were thrilled to welcome more than 30 people for an evening of games, connection, and community!

Women’s Bible Study: A New Study Begins

Women’s Bible Study is beginning a new study on Wednesday, August 26, from 9:30–10:30 AM in the Chapel.

This study, by Anne Graham Lotz, is titled Jesus in Me: Experiencing the Holy Spirit as a Constant Companion. Together, we’ll explore the presence and work of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives.

If you’ve been thinking about joining Women’s Bible Study, this is a great time to come! We’re moving to a new location and beginning a brand-new study on the Holy Spirit. We’d love to have you join us!

90+ Spotlight: Celebrating Faithful Servant

This week, we are excited to feature Marge Carr!

Marge joined Federated in 1997 after marrying Lou Carr. She quickly became involved in the life of the church, especially since Lou was always finding something to do around Federated!

Marge has a love for adventure and travel, naming that she has specifically loved the opportunities she got to take trips with other Federated members throughout the years. She has visited more than 20 countries around the globe. Whether it was exploring the glaciers in Alaska, riding an elephant in Asia, or watching Lou’s face emerge from the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, Marge has countless memories and stories to share!

We encourage you to ask Marge about her adventures over the years—and share some of your own travel adventures with her, too! While Marge’s own travels are more limited these days, she loves hearing about the places others have visited and encouraging others in their own adventures.

We are grateful for Marge and the joy, friendship, adventurous spirit, and enthusiasm she brings to our church family. We’re so glad to celebrate her as this week’s 90+ Spotlight!
