This year the United States marks the 250th anniversary of its Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Many church leaders are wondering how (or whether) to acknowledge this occasion in worship without promoting Christian nationalism, a political ideology that confuses and conflates Christian identity with national identity. "Call to Worship" has gathered resources and guidelines for planners and leaders of worship who seek to offer an alternate, corrective approach on July 5. Creator God, may we be ever mindful of all of the ways you’ve called us to be good stewards of this marvelous Earth. May you make our hearts and hands be ever willing to set to tasks great and small to serve your creation.

In honor of Earth Day, the Presbyterian Hunger Program invites you to download a resource developed by our partners at Creation Justice Ministries, “The Canopy of Creation: Trees, Faith, and the Work of Justice.” This guide helps congregations explore the connection between faith, environmental care and justice while offering practical ways to take action in their communities. The launch of Global Ecumenical Partnerships (GEP) in 2025 deepened that shift, centering relational accompaniment — a posture of walking with rather than going to — as the defining practice of faithful ministry.
