What a wonderful day in God's house at Middle Cross Baptist Church!

This morning, Pastor JT preached from Matthew 23:23-34 in a message titled, "Why Are Christians Hypocritical?"

We were reminded that:
✝️ Hypocrisy is not a new problem. Even in Jesus' day, He confronted those who looked righteous on the outside while their hearts were far from God.
✝️ There is a difference between failure and hypocrisy. As Christians, we all stumble and fall, but failure should lead us to repentance. Hypocrisy is refusing to deal honestly with our sin while pretending everything is fine.
✝️ The true Church is full of Grace and Truth. We are not called to be perfect people—we are called to be forgiven people who point others to Jesus. A healthy church lovingly speaks truth while extending the same grace that Christ has shown us.

The heart of the message was simple: Repent, believe, and trust that Jesus is Lord. None of us are saved by our own goodness, but by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

We're thankful for the truth of God's Word and the reminder that Jesus welcomes broken people who come to Him in repentance and faith.

What a beautiful Pentecost Sunday at Middle Cross! 🔥🕊️

Today we celebrated the birth of the Church, honored those who served our country, and worshipped together through John 14:15–21.

We were reminded that Jesus promised the Holy Spirit, our Helper and Comforter, who lives in us, leads us into truth, and empowers us to follow Christ with boldness and faithfulness. The same Spirit that filled the early Church is still moving today.

One of the sweetest moments was watching our children come forward and sing:
🇺🇸 “God Bless America”
❤️ “God Bless All”
✝️ “He Died for Us”

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Pentecost Sunday! Praying we all walk this week filled with the Spirit and pointing people to Jesus.
