If you’re looking at mission trips for your students, you’ve probably noticed that there are a lot of great organizations to choose from.

So what makes LeaderTreks different?

For us, it starts with one simple belief:

Students don’t just need to serve. They need to learn how to lead.

That’s why student leadership is at the heart of every LeaderTreks mission trip.

Rather than having students simply show up, complete a service project, and head home, we intentionally create opportunities for students to step up, take ownership, serve others, make decisions, and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

We don't just want students to go on a mission trip. We want them to become missionaries.

On a LeaderTreks trip, students are challenged to think beyond, “What are we doing?”

We want them asking:

“Who are we serving?”
“Why does this matter?”
“Where is God at work?”
“How can I lead others?”
“How will I live differently when I get home?”

That discipleship doesn't happen by accident.

Our trips intentionally combine hands-on ministry, biblical teaching, reflection, and leadership development so that students aren't just impacted by the experience—they learn how to use what they've experienced to impact others.

Mission Trip Stories:
James 1:27 says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…”

When your team goes on a Mission Ready trip, they’ll get to lead a Vacation Bible School at a nursing home / senior living facility.

Your students will build relationships with people like Mary* who are often lonely, as many of their friends and family members are already gone.

Loving on the residents by sharing testimonies and songs, doing crafts and games together, or just sitting with them and having conversations, will show Jesus’s love.

Some of the students this summer worked on puzzles, learned to crochet, and played balloon volleyball, among other things. The opportunities are endless!

What will your team bring, and what will they take home with them? Book a Leadertreks Mission Trip and find out!

Mission Trip Stories:

Mrs. Jones’s* deck and stairs were rotting through. It was dangerous for her to walk from her front door to get to her yard/driveway. This summer, one of the LeaderTreks teams had the privilege of replacing her deck.

It was slow-going at first, as they struggled through learning to communicate well with each other on the job site, and they weren’t sure they’d get to finish the whole thing in a week.

But, as they worked together, started understanding each other’s leadership types, and got to know what knowledge and skills they each brought to the table, they began to see how God had brought them all together to serve Mrs. Jones in this way.

By Thursday morning, they were working like a well-oiled machine, and left Mrs. Jones with a completely new deck and sturdy stairs that will be safe for her to use for years to come!

Imagine your team on a Leadertreks Mission Trip, having a similar impact on a homeowner. What a blessing to have the ability to serve someone in this way! Not only can you build them a new deck and safety, but you can bring them the love of Jesus and impact their lives for eternity!

This summer in Knoxville, a team of students helped give a homeowner something many of us take for granted—a safe way to walk out her front door. Others spent their days building relationships with nursing home residents, sharing stories, laughter, and the love of Jesus.

But something was happening in the lives of those students, too.

Through the challenges of working together, stepping into unfamiliar situations, and learning to put others first, students discovered what it means to lead through service. They grew in confidence, built meaningful relationships, and saw how God could use them to make a difference.

These are just a few of the stories coming out of Knoxville this summer. And they're the kinds of experiences your students could be part of next year.
