We had a great Rally Day in J.A.M. Time yesterday! 🤩 It was so fun seeing our returning Shine Brites as well as getting to welcome our new Shine Brites! It's going to be a great year downstairs at Immanuel this year! 😎

Twenty-five years later, some memories remain remarkably close.

We remember where we were. We remember the images that were difficult to comprehend. We remember lives lost, families changed forever, first responders who ran toward danger, and the fear and uncertainty that followed.

September 11 is a day we promised never to forget.

But remembrance also asks something of us.

Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” — Matthew 5:9

To remember faithfully is not only to look backward. It is to ask what kind of people we will be now.

May we honor those who were lost by choosing compassion over hatred, courage over fear, and peace over division. May we listen more carefully, love our neighbors more fully, and keep doing the difficult work of becoming peacemakers in our homes, our communities, and our world.

Twenty-five years later, we remember. We grieve. And we pray for peace.

Never forgotten.
