Col. 2:6-8

What you know about God...is it something you KNOW or you THINK YOU KNOW?

Paul teaches here, to BEWARE, lest any man decieve you with vain (empty, completely lacking) words.

When we don’t KNOW about something, it is EASY to be deceived...that is why you parents try so hard to give your children the right guidance. Because they THINK they know...

Paul says you need to be rooted up in Him, STABLISHED (established) in faith and OVERFLOWING in Him. This way we won't be decieved by vain words...

In order to be rooted and established...BE LIKE A ROOT. CONTINUOUSLY draw ALL, ALL of your nourishment from God and His Word!

James 2:14

James asks us a couple of questions, in love.

He wants to confirm that we REALLY understand this part. He asks, what profit, advantage or gain will we have, if we ONLY SAY or ONLY SPEAK the words, that we have faith? 🤔🤔🤔

Then, the second part of that question…AND HAVE NOT WORKS...meaning, there is no evidence… 😶

…not in our conversation😶
…not in our conduct😶
…not in our attitude😶
…not in our reverence for God😶
…not in our reverence for Jesus 😶
…not in how we treat others… 😶 (OUCH!)

The 2nd question James asks is, Can that type of faith (without works and only spoken words) save you. THREE TIMES in following verses, James says, FAITH WITHOUT WORKS, WITHOUT EVIDENCE IS DEAD, NOT EFFECTIVE, INCOMPLETE, WILL…NOT… WORK. 😶😶😶
