This week at Life Church Waynesville, we started a new series called The Influence of Jesus. It began with a simple observation. There has never been a more influential person in human history than Jesus, and yet he built that influence in a way that runs completely against how our culture teaches us to be noticed.

Jesus didn't climb higher. He came down. He moved toward the sick, the poor, the grieving, the outsider, the people everyone else had learned to overlook.

A question all of us can sit with this week: "Who have I stopped seeing?"

This week we walked through Acts 8, the story of Philip and the Ethiopian official, a man with wealth, education, and influence who was still searching for something more. We talked about what it looks like to obey God before you have the full picture, why one person matters just as much as a crowd, and how to actually point someone to Jesus instead of just offering them sympathy.

If you've been in a season that feels more like a desert than a destination, I want you to hear this: the desert isn't always a sign you missed God. Sometimes it's exactly where He sent you.
