There's a difference between hoping things get better and having a hope that's already settled. Peter draws that line clearly in 1 Peter 1, and it changes everything about how you carry what you're carrying.

These two things can look similar from the outside.
The difference on the inside is everything.

This Sunday we spent time in 1 Peter chapter 1.

Peter was writing to real people under real pressure. Scattered, feeling like outsiders, following Jesus in places where it made life harder, not easier.

He didn't offer them a pep talk. He gave them a theology strong enough for suffering. A hope rooted not in whether things get better, but in the fact that Jesus walked out of the grave.

We talked about what tested faith actually looks like. What holiness really is versus what religion has turned it into. And why a community built on living hope should be the most loving, most honest place around.

If you were there, share it with someone who needs it.
If you missed it, the full sermon is up now.

That distinction matters. Because if it was just character development, then the pressure is on you to become a bolder, better, more faithful version of yourself.

But that's not the story. The power was never supposed to come from Peter. And it was never supposed to come from us either.

For anyone who ever felt like this kind of experience was for other people, more spiritual people, people who had it more together.

It's not.
The promise is for you.

Sunday was the final week of our Empowered series and it landed on Pentecost Sunday, which felt right.

Pastor Jared went deep into Acts 1 and 2 and brought something that was honest, clarifying, and genuinely hopeful. If you've ever felt underpowered, hesitant, or unsure whether the promises of Pentecost were really for you, this message has something to say to you.

The full sermon is up now. Watch it, share it with someone, or send it to a friend who's been asking questions about faith
