Fanning the Flame of Evangelism
"And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give." — Matthew 10:7–8
The Great Commission is not a passive instruction; it is an urgent calling to step beyond the four walls of the church and take the love of Christ directly to the surrounding community. Equipped with prayer, faith, and the Word of God, the evangelism team recently took to the streets of Waynesville to minister directly to the needs of local families and neighbors.
The goal was simple yet profound: meet people where they are, listen to their burdens, lift up their prayer requests, and compel them with open arms to come into the house of the Lord.
Among the many doors opened that day, one encounter stood out as a powerful testament to the hunger for genuine spiritual connection in our neighborhoods. The team had the privilege of praying with a 91-year-old woman and her daughter right at their home.
As prayers were lifted, the presence of the Holy Spirit filled the space so tangibly that tears began to flow freely. Moved by the moment, the daughter looked at the team and voiced a sentiment felt by so many today:
"This is what we need again."
It was a poignant reminder that people are waiting for the Church to show up on their doorsteps with authentic compassion, hope, and the power of prayer.
God knows every home visited, every burden shared, and every seed planted during the outreach. The team recorded remarkable engagement across the community:
169 homes visited
59 face-to-face personal encounters
Behind every single statistic is a name, a family, and a soul cared for by God. The seeds sown in Waynesville have already begun to take root, and the kingdom of heaven was truly brought near to 59 different households in a single day.
Every open door, every answered prayer, and every moment of breakthrough belongs entirely to the Lord. As the flame of evangelism continues to burn brightly, the team gives all the glory, honor, and praise to God for what He accomplished in Waynesville—and for all that He will continue to do through hands willingly lifted in service.
