Earlier this week I had been driving for approximately 6 1/2 hours and traffic had not been cooperative throughout my trip. As I approached yet another jam due to what I thought was highway construction I saw each car ahead of me brake and change lanes. As I arrived at the point of the problem I saw the issue. A dove had been struck and killed by a motorist. As each motorist passed It’s mate would briefly fly away and return to the deceased mate after each motorist passed. I rejoiced for the respect shown by the motorists. As I continued my travel I remembered that the dove is symbolic of God’s Holy Spirit sent to indwell in the heart of those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior. It then occurred to me that the deceased dove represents those who are dead in their sin because they reject the truth of Christ, refuse to acknowledge Him as Savior, place their beliefs and opinions above God’s and are dying in the chaos, jams, and futility of a life without Christ. And God’s Holy Spirit patiently waits, and waits, and waits in love until the lost sinner has had enough of a futile life in their fast lane and calls out to Him for comfort, truth, and counsel. Thank you Holy Spirit for being patient with me until that wonderful day of May 10, 1998 that you gave me a life that will never, never, never, ever end. Is today your day? It can be. “God's mercies are new every morning" is a promise from Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV) stating that God's faithful love and compassion never end and are refreshed daily. It means God provides a "reset button," offering fresh grace and a clean slate, rather than holding past failures or mistakes against us.

Nothing reminds me of this scripture more than an early morning sunrise. God’s mercies renew every morning. Pray you receive these mercies this Resurrection weekend.

This is one of my favorite places to visit when I’m at the beach. The meaning of the cross is certainly amplified during Holy Week. Because Jesus loves you and me so much He placed Himself on this object designed for torture, punishment, and suffering. He did that for us. My prayer is that all will, in truth, come to the revelation of what the crucifixion gave you access to - The Kingdom of God and all its glory. This is the only access point to God’s Kingdom. Have a wonderful Resurrection Week.

Blessings to all. As the world spins into chaos and hatred spews its ugly darkness from all directions, remember that none of this should come as a surprise. The world has been and will remain at war with itself and God until its end. For the Christian believer who walks in faith in the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin, our Father has created a city called heaven. In that eternal city there will be peace, love, joy, glory, praise and things so wonderful we can only read about them in God’s Word for now. And there is only one way to enter that sanctuary of eternal life….faith in Jesus. Contrast that to many cities of the world today where corruption, fraud, theft, crime, r**e, murder, assault, lawlessness, chaos, and those subjecting the citizens to such are welcome and protected by many of the “leaders.” When even our neighbors and co-workers are so shallow and so ignorant of spiritual things that the height of their intellect is limited to spewing the “f word” do not forget we are called to love them and pray for them. We would love to have them join us in our eternal city even when they want to drive us out of theirs. Pray for your neighbors, the world, and our country today. God bless.
