Dear Friends,

Southminster Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) invites you to a very special service of worship on **Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.**

We are honored to welcome as guest preachers the Co-Moderators of the 226th and 227th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), **The Rev. CeCe Armstrong** and **The Rev. Tony Larson**.

Elected in 2024 to a historic two-year term, Rev. Armstrong and Rev. Larson are the first leadership team to moderate two consecutive General Assemblies. Together, they have traveled throughout the denomination, sharing a message of hope, unity, discipleship, and faithful witness in a changing world.

Rev. Armstrong serves as Associate Pastor of St. James Presbyterian Church in Charleston, South Carolina, and is a graduate of the Interdenominational Theological Center (Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary). Rev. Larson serves as Pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. Together, they represent a dynamic and inspiring voice for the church today.

The morning will also feature outstanding guest musicians:

**Lydia Rose Eiche-Ross**, acclaimed performer in opera, musical theatre, and concert repertoire, whose appearances include the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Skylight Music Theatre, Milwaukee Opera Theatre, and numerous regional productions.

**Tomás Dominguez**, Wisconsin native and accomplished vocalist, whose performances span opera, musical theatre, and concert stages throughout Wisconsin and beyond.

The service will include the celebration of **Holy Communion ** (all are welcome to partake) and special music composed by Southminster's own Director of Music, **Elder Paula F. Tillen**.

Following worship, all are invited to a special luncheon in Nelson Hall with Commissioners and participants to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). This will be a unique opportunity for conversation, fellowship, and learning more about the work and witness of the wider church.

Join us THIS SUNDAY, May 31, at 10:00 a.m. for our FAITH IN ACTION Worship Service

You’ll be helping to feed the hungry and show love to our neighbors. Worship will start in the Sanctuary, but then we’ll break into two teams:

The OUTDOOR TEAM will finish planting our new Food for the Journey raised bed gardens.

The INDOOR TEAM will plant herbs in pots that we will give away to our neighbors.

Wear your jeans and bring a pair of work/gardening gloves (or we'll provide some). All ages and gardening abilities welcome!

On Memorial Day, we take time to remember and reflect upon the sacrifices of those who have given their lives in service to our country. In commemoration of today, the Presbyterian Historical Society is sharing this 1969 photograph snapped by the Religious News Service at the National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, during a Memorial Day commemoration service. The caption reads, “This scene will be repeated in every U.S. community on May 30, Memorial Day, when the nation pauses to remember its dead.”

Donate to help Lisbon Presbyterian Church Rebuild

In April, the storms that blew through Wisconsin left Lisbon Presbyterian Church in Sussex significantly damaged by a tornado. Work is underway to rebuild, but the church will encounter costs not covered by insurance (eg, trees that need to be removed, parking lot destruction from heavy machinery). If you would like to make a monetary contribution to Lisbon for the work that will be done, please donate through the General Donations to the Presbytery link on the Presbytery's website and include "Lisbon" in the notes section (https://secure.myvanco.com/L-ZK76/campaign/C-14MB6).
The congregation is grateful for the support from their community.
