He is Risen! We serve a risen Savior.

I Corinthians 15:17 says, “And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; and ye are yet in your sins.” The resurrection of Christ proves that Jesus was indeed the Son of God, that He is indeed our Savior.

I love verse 20 where it says, “But now is Christ risen from the dead….” He is risen and had been seen of Peter and the rest of the disciples as well as 500 others, and Paul saw Him that day on the road to Damascus, thus he was transformed from persecutor of Christians to a believer. His resurrection shows that death, hell and the grave have been conquered, for all who believe in Him as Savior. For if believers die before He returns they too will be resurrected as He was. The grave didn’t hold Him and will not hold those who believed in Him.

No wonder this great resurrection chapter closes in verse 55-57 – “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?.........thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
