The answer to this question here at Anchor is "yes," deliberately so. Choir is great, piano and organ are great, orchestras and bands and ensembles are great. BUT, sometimes when we need the great comfort and assurance that comes from singing the great truths of God's Word, none of those things are available. So, yes, I do purposefully choose songs for worship that will work fine without any instruments at all. ♥️🎶

The Baptist Disaster Relief Team is heading out again this morning from Anchor Baptist Church to continue cleanup efforts across Lafayette County and surrounding communities.
For the third week, Anchor has been honored to house these teams in our Family Life Center. Volunteers from Florida, South Carolina, and South Mississippi have come together to serve our community by providing cleanup support, showers, and meals.
We are incredibly grateful for their dedication, compassion, and servant hearts as they continue to care for our Commodore community during this time.

NEW SONG FOR THIS SUNDAY!

I set about trying to find a good version of this for congregational use not long after it came out, but didn't find a good one until our new hymnals came...and there it was! Great truths set to a lovely tune. Take a listen (and turn the subtitles on) and you'll be ahead of everyone else on Sunday. 🙂
