Dr. Katherine A. Koudele, Andrews University's Animal Science Program Director, hosts this week's Creation Animal Care at the Berrien County Youth Fair. This fair is recognized as the largest youth fair in the Midwest and ranks among the largest standalone youth-focused fairs in the entire United States. What makes it unique is that it strictly limits its competitive exhibits to children and young adults. According to the fair website, "Despite this restriction, its scale is massive, drawing over 100,000 visitors annually and featuring more than 12,000 exhibits across a permanent 150+ acre fairground with over 50 buildings."

We take two episodes to cover the Berrien County Youth Fair. The first part this Sunday at 5 pm, Monday at 10 am, and Wednesday at midnight. The final part airs the third week of October!

Bathed in the warm light of sunset, Gaborone is the capital and largest city of Botswana—a peaceful, landlocked nation in southern Africa. The city is home to 246,327 people, while Botswana has a population of nearly 2.36 million. English is the country’s official language, and Setswana is its national language.

Christianity has a strong presence in Botswana. Among those who stated a religious affiliation in the 2022 census, 86.5 percent identified themselves as Christians. Another 4.6 percent followed African traditional religions, while 7.1 percent reported no religious affiliation.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is also well established here. Across Botswana, more than 51,000 members worship in 173 churches. Gaborone is part of the South Botswana Conference, which has 77 churches and more than 23,000 members faithfully sharing the everlasting gospel.

As another Sabbath begins, please join me in praying for our church members in Gaborone and throughout Botswana. Pray that every congregation will be a shining light in its community, proclaiming the Three Angels’ Messages with Christlike love and preparing people for the soon return of Jesus.

Let us also pray for Botswana’s families, children and young people—and especially for those who have not yet discovered the peace, hope and salvation found in Jesus Christ.

May this Sabbath draw each of us closer to our Creator and Redeemer and renew our commitment to His mission. Jesus is coming soon!
