The Temple of Nyame evolved in 1978 from the African Cultural & Religious Society.

We have a beautiful African-centered service to God Almighty and the African saints. ~Okomfohene Bokor Nana Kwabena Brown, Founder and Chief Priest of Asuo-Gyebi, Tigare, Yemoja and Afa Shrines In 1969, the A.C.R.S. sponsored the first official visit to the District of Columbia of Nana Yao Oparebea Dinizulu, Omanhene to the Akans in North America. In 1973, A.C.R.S. sponsored the second official v

isit of Okomfohemaa Nana Oparebea to the United States. She at that time established the Asuo-Gyebi Shrine of Washington, DC (including Tegare, Nana Esi, the Mmoatia, Adade Kofi). The Abasom of the Temple of Nyame and the Orisa (including Elegba, Ogun, Yemoja, Obatala, Oya, Sango, Osun) received by Iya Mari while a member of the Yoruba Temple—under the leadership of Iya Nifa Pamela Mother Taylor and her Teachers in Trinidad, South Carolina and Nigeria, West Africa—were united as one shine in 2003. THE TEMPLE OF NYAME BELIEVES IN:
The divinity of every individual. We believe that
individuals are made up of a physical body, personality, soul and spirit, and that each person’s eternal and unchanging aspect is the soul (Okra, Ori). WE BELIEVE IN:
1. The Primacy of Spirit
2. Reincarnation
3. Karma
4. Life in the spiritual world
5. Reverence and communication with the ancestors
6. Reverence and communication with Prayer, interaction and intervention with, and from, the spiritual hosts
7. Afa/Ifa is the second person of the African Cosmic Trinity
8. The Solar Logos is the God and intelligence behind he sun from which our souls originate
9. The black dot is the manifested aspect of the Solar Logos behind the sun
10. The power of the mind and the importance of Intention
