Saint Peter's DC Welcome to St. Peter's Church on Capitol Hill. St. Peter's Church on Capitol Hill was founded in 1820. Peter's community.

It has been a staple of the Capitol Hill community for generations. We are now joining the Facebook community in an effort to better serve our parish, our neighborhood and our ever expanding "online community". Lace up your walking shoes and join Father Dan and parishioners for an evening walk. Enjoy the summer weather, spend time with Father Dan and your fellow parishioners in a casual setting, and get a little exercise! Meet in front of the church at 6:00 pm. The route and pace will be set by the group.

The annual parish picnic will be on Saturday, June 27 after the 5 pm Mass.

The picnic will be held in the Holy Family Garden and Parish Hall. The parish will provide hot dogs, brats, regular and plant-based burgers, and drinks. You bring your favorite salad, fruit, or burger toppings (last names A-H), side dish (last names I - N), or dessert (last names O-Z).

Are you a caregiver for someone who suffers from a chronic illness, disability, or dementia?

Father Dan is starting a Peace in the Storm support group for caregivers. The group will meet both online and in-person.

Peace in the Storm is an intentional and compassionate model of spiritual and pastoral accompaniment with adults living with chronic pain and illness and accompaniment with caregivers. On Thursday, June 11, the US Catholic Bishops will consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as part of the celebration of the 250 anniversary of America. All are invited to pray this prayer along with the Catholic Bishops:

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus: May our hearts be united to yours, so that our families and communities enjoy peace and happiness; may broken relationships be reconciled, injustices repaired, and the wounds of our land be healed. May your holy Catholic Church serve as a sign, pointing all people to your infinite love. O Desire of Nations and Center of History, we ask you to bless these United States of America. Who live and reign with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us! Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us!
