Today we pray for the brave men and women who died in service to our country.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Grateful to have captured this beautiful moment from yesterdayโ€™s priestly ordination for the Dominican Province of St. Joseph. Seeing so many Dominican friars gathered around the altar together in prayer and celebration was a powerful reminder of the beauty of the priesthood and the life of the Church.

On Pentecost, we remember that the Holy Spirit is still alive and active. Still calling, renewing, sanctifying, and drawing people closer to Christ. A joy to celebrate both this feast and the ordination of two new Dominican priests in the same weekend!!

Come, Holy Spirit. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ and peace be with you!

The Mass of Ordination for Br. Pius Mary Henry, O.P. and Br. Raphael Mary Arteaga, O.P. will begin shortly.

We invite you to join us in prayer, as we call upon the Lord to pour out many graces upon our brothers, their families, and their loved ones during the Ordination Mass.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love!

โ€œPray the Rosary every day.โ€

(& you can! Pray the rosary with us at St. Dominicโ€™s every weekday at 11:45 a.m. before our 12:10 p.m. Mass!! ๐Ÿ˜‰)

Today, we celebrate 109 years since the first apparition of Our Lady of Fรกtima to three shepherd children in Portugal on May 13, 1917.

A fun fact: the Dominican friars have a special connection to the shrine at Fรกtima. If you are ever blessed enough to make a pilgrimage there, you canโ€™t miss the beautiful statue of Our Lady standing before the basilica.

The statue was sculpted by Dominican priest Fr. Thomas McGlynn, O.P., who met personally with Sister Lucia (one of the children who witnessed the apparitions) and worked with her directly on the details of the sculpture until she believed it truly reflected the image of Our Lady she had seen!

Our Lady of Fรกtima, pray for us.

Beautiful new reflections from Frs. Andrew Hofer, O.P., and Philip Nolan, O.P., on the Our Father and the Hail Mary. A wonderful companion for prayer during Eastertide and throughout May.

Maria V. Gallagher has discovered two books that can help make family time prayer time.
