DAILY MESSAGE: “Motivate One…..”

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. (NLT) Hebrews 10:24

Do you know of someone who is down? Give your best effort to encourage them. A hot meal goes a long way to help someone who is depressed. Put yourself in their position and use gentle words to build them up. Take a moment to thoughtfully encourage your friend. Reviving their spirit enables them to be their lovable selves again.

Although Covenant began its life as a Southern Baptist congregation, we are far removed from the SBC of today but we are proud of our continued affiliation with the DC Baptist Convention, one of the first baptist bodies to affirm the call of women in ministry and suffered for it (read below).

We celebrate the trailblazing women in our church and our baptist community, who continue to preach, prophesy and pastor with power and excellence, as God has commissioned them to do.

A Message from the District of Columbia Baptist Convention

Today, the Southern Baptist Convention voted once again to further restrict the role of women in pastoral leadership. The District of Columbia Baptist Convention remains steadfast in our commitment to supporting the call of God on the lives of all people.

As Rev. Dr. Trisha Miller Manarin shared, DCBC believes that God continues to pour out the Holy Spirit on all people. We celebrate the gifts, leadership, and ministry of women who faithfully serve Christ and His Church. We will continue to be a convention that follows the leading of the Holy Spirit as revealed throughout Scripture, encouraging all whom God has called to preach, teach, serve, and lead.

Today, we hold space for those who may feel discouraged, unseen, or wounded by this decision. We want you to know that you are valued, your gifts matter, and your calling is worthy of support and affirmation. May we continue to walk together in faith, grace, and love, trusting that God is still calling people from every background to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ.

"I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy..."

DAILY MESSAGE: “Instruction…..”

If you stop listening to instruction, my child, you will turn your back on knowledge. (NLT) Proverbs 19:27

Is there someone in your life you have stopped listening to? If they are repeating the same thing over again, perhaps try listening to them. Usually, there is some wisdom that you have overlooked and need to pay attention to it. No one is ever too old to hear advice from others. Instruction is given out of love. Try receiving it with love.

DAILY MESSAGE: “Whatever…..”

I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. (NLT) Mark 11:24

Stand firm on the promise that God will respond to our prayers. God is able to restore our joy when life does all it can to sn**ch it away from us. God responds to a humble and searching heart. As we seek God he begins to provide what we need no matter what our circumstances look like. God is a good father and cares for us!

DAILY MESSAGE: “Satisfy Like…..”

Wise words satisfy like a good meal; the right words bring satisfaction. (NLT) Proverbs 18:20

Usually, after dinner time, everyone leaves to clean up or return to their previous activities. Although, there's nothing quite like sitting around the table and talking, enjoying one another's company. Maybe it's remembering the same old stories or laughing about the day's events. After lingering around the table, there's nothing more satisfying than being with those you love. Try sticking around the table this evening and taking part in the satisfaction of table talk.

DAILY MESSAGE: “Hope…..”

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD . “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (NLT) Jeremiah 29:11

You can stand on your promise that God has a hope and a future for you and your family! Even when you walk through a difficult season, God promises to be working on your behalf. Remember even when you can’t see it, God is moving!
