This weekend, we didn’t just talk about assignment, we walked in it. 🙏🏽💚

On Saturday, 18 members of our church family took prayer beyond the walls and into the Bannister neighborhood of Waldorf. We walked together, covering families, schools, households, churches, leaders, safety, and our community in prayer. Along the way, we had opportunities to connect with neighbors and invite them to REAL Church. 🙏🏽

Then on Sunday, the message became even clearer.

From Communion and worship to a beautiful praise dance to “Yes,” God was preparing our hearts for Pastor Colby’s message: There is an Assignment on This House.

As we moved from Recover into our new Built for This series, we were reminded that God didn’t recover us simply so we could feel better. He restored us for a purpose. Recovery gets us back on our feet; calling tells us why we’re standing.

And then came a moment we won’t soon forget.

Pastor Colby invited those seeking clarity about their God-given assignment to the altar. As people gathered with hands raised, he prayed over them, that God would bring clarity and give them the instructions needed to walk out what He has called them to do.

It was humbling. It was hopeful. And it felt like a pivotal moment for our church.

There is an assignment on this house. And our prayer is that we’ll have the faith, clarity, and courage to say YES to whatever God asks us to build. 🙌🏽💚

What do you believe God is building in you right now, and who is it meant to impact?

And as you think about this season of your life, how would you describe where you are?

Visitor. Consumer. Builder.

Which one best describes you in this season and why?

There’s no “right” answer. We’d love to hear your thoughts. 👇🏽💚

Join us tomorrow at 10 AM as we continue the conversation at REAL Church.

Join us TONIGHT! Sunday’s message isn’t over yet. 📖

Tonight, Minister Marciel Whitehurst will lead our Sunday Sermon Deep Dive as we continue the conversation from Sunday’s message, “Recover Your Assignment.”

We’ll dig deeper into what it means to recognize areas of misalignment, get back in step with what God has called us to do, and put our gifts and assignment into action.

Where is God calling you to align?

Bring your Bible, your notes from Sunday, and your questions as we go deeper together.

Your assignment is still waiting for you. đź’š

Today, Minister Marciel Whitehurst closed out our Recover series with a powerful and reflective message: “Recover Your Assignment.”

We were reminded that being successful (even being used by God) isn’t necessarily the same as being aligned with God’s will for our lives. Exhaustion, detours, fear, and even success can pull us away from what God has actually called us to do.

But here’s the good news: our mistakes don’t cancel God’s faithfulness. We may not be able to change the past, but through repentance, obedience, and God’s grace, we can get back into alignment and move forward in our assignment.

And for some of us, getting back into alignment means getting engaged, and using the gifts God has given us to serve, grow, and make an impact right here at REAL Church.
Recover your assignment. Get back in alignment. Get engaged. 🙌🏽

Sometimes something inside of us needs to come into alignment with where God has called us to be.

Your assignment doesn’t come back through effort alone. It comes back when what’s happening inside you matches where you’re standing outside.

So, let’s get REAL:

Where do you need to engage in the church for alignment—or realignment—to begin?

Drop your thoughts below. 👇🏽

🙏🏽 What an incredible Sunday at REAL Church!

We may have completed our 21 Days of Prayer, but as Pastor Colby reminded us on Day 21, it wasn't a graduation—it was encouragement to carry this forward and continue meeting with God daily. Prayer Changes Everything!

That spirit of prayer continued as we surrounded our students, parents, teachers, and school staff ahead of the new school year. Our REAL Kidz Church Director, Sister Cassandra Cole, led a powerful Back-to-School Prayer as students were anointed with oil and our church family stretched forth our hands in prayer over everyone heading back into our schools. 🎒🙏🏽

Then Pastor Colby continued our Recover series from Ezekiel 37 with “It's Time to Get Your Hope Back.”

Repeated disappointment can cause us to stop expecting, dreaming, praying, and believing. But the Valley of Dry Bones reminds us that what looks dead to us does not intimidate God.

We were challenged to keep praying, keep speaking life, keep obeying, and to dream again!

As we carry the spirit of these 21 Days forward, here's a question worth taking with us:
What have you stopped praying about because you stopped believing it could change?

It's time to get your hope back. đź’š
