Calvary Presbyterian Church is a member congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. We are located in Volga, South Dakota, a small town located 5 miles from Brookings, the fourth largest city in South Dakota and home to South Dakota State University. Our congregation seeks, by the grace of God, to be faithful to the teachings of Scripture and to glorify God in all we do. The doctrines we hol

d are those of historic Christianity as summarized by the Westminster Standards. We do not seek innovation in our worship, but trust that the Lord gives us His grace through the simple yet powerful means of the preaching of His Word, prayer, and the administration of the sacraments. It is our desire to have you join us in the worship of our great God, as we respond with praise and thanksgiving for His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord, and the sanctification wrought in us by the Holy Spirit.

UNSHAKEN FAITH: Former U.S. Sen. Ben Sasse says he's at peace with his terminal cancer diagnosis.

"We felt amazingly blessed that Melissa, my wife, and I immediately were at peace about all this," he said. "But because one of our three kids is still at home — our girls are 24 and 22, and my son's 14 — you felt like you had an obligation to try to fight a little bit."

"The foolishness of our works are pretty apparent to you when you try to really look at the accounting of a life," Sasse says. "Jesus did everything on the cross to fulfill the whole law. I fulfilled none of it. He fulfilled all of it."
