Soul Story Ministries Soul Story Ministries provides individuals with a safe place to share the story of their lives & find the connection with the Holy.

I offer spiritual guidance (aka spiritual direction), retreats, labyrinth walks, spiritual director supervision. Telling our stories around the kitchen table at dinner time was an ancient practice that has kind of gone by the wayside. Now with us living apart from our families it is hard to find the space and time to share our life story with another. In our modern world we may blog them or tweet

them but to sit and speak face to face (so to speak) – heart to heart makes the story come alive. In the richness of that time you can see God’s hand in all you do and stop to see what God wants you to do as you live out your life story with and for God. As a pastor and spiritual director I help people make that connection between our day to day living and the presence of the Holy One in all that we do. I help people to deepen their relationship with God via new and refreshed spiritual formation exercises: new forms of prayer, journaling, Bible study, etc. At Soul Story Ministries I offer: Spiritual Direction, centering prayer, prayer and Bible classes, Christian meditation group, blog devotions, workshops, supervision for spiritual directors, retreats, labyrinth walks/workshops, video learning, and On-line retreats and classes. In retreat settings I can offer group spiritual direction using the Bible, spiritual reading, prayer, the labyrinth, and the sacraments of communion and the reaffirmation of our baptisms. In workshops I can teach new forms of prayer and help people identify with the life of the Saints and spiritual reading as well as Bible studies, studies of Biblical topics like pilgrimage or love or compassion, as well as history and other religious topics.

Pastors, going away for a week of prayer and planning or renewal? Make it a bit of a retreat as well by having an hour of spiritual direction each day. You can often go to a retreat center for a week of personal retreat and meet with a spiritual director each day. This gives you the opportunity to tune into what God is calling you to in this time away. We can meet on zoom. It will definitely deepen your time away and perhaps help you to listen more closely to the Holy Word God has for you. Contact me for details.

Greeting United Methodist Clergy friends,
Tis the time of the annual pilgrimage of pastors moving to new appointments. I want to offer up something to think about. Whenever I moved to a new community of faith, I always vowed to do better with the calendar and taking Sabbath and such and it worked for a short time but then the busyness of the church set in and my best intentions went out the window. Now is the time to set aside some sacred time on your calendars so you won't slide back into old work patterns.
