The mission of New Creation is to glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by making disciples who are growing in relationship with God. This relationship continues through Christ in membership, through each other in ministry and the world through missions.

By One Spirit

In 1 Corinthians 12:12-31, the Apostle Paul passionately emphasizes the importance of unity among believers, highlighting that every member of the Church, with their unique function and spiritual gifts, plays an essential role in the health and mission of the Body of Christ. Paul strongly advocates against division, promoting a collective identity that celebrates the diversity of the Spirit's gifts. Within the grand narrative of Scripture, Christ embodies the perfect unity and diversity of the Godhead, serving as the cornerstone that unites all believers.

Empowered for Mission

In Numbers 11, the Holy Spirit rests upon the seventy elders of Israel, anointing them for the service of ministering to the people. During this event, two of the elders, Eldad and Medad, “missed the meeting” but still experienced the Spirit's anointing and prophesied in the camp.

This event might be viewed as a precursor to what will take place in the Book of Acts; let’s call it a “test run.”

This morning, as we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, I would like for us to draw a comparison between the work of the Holy Spirit in Numbers 11 and the Spirit’s work in the Book of Acts and beyond.

In Numbers 11, the Holy Spirit rests upon the seventy elders of Israel, anointing them for the service of ministering to the people. During this event, two o...

The Coming Comforter

In John 14:16-17, Jesus promises His disciples the coming of the Holy Spirit. The word John uses to describe the Spirit is the Greek word paraklētos. The word can be translated “Advocate, Comforter, Counselor,” and means “one called alongside to help.” He is the one sent by God who will dwell in us and guide us in truth.

In John 14:16-17, Jesus promises His disciples the coming of the Ho...

Hannah: A Mother's Prayer

This morning, we observe Mother's Day by reflecting on the life of Hannah, one of the most devoted mothers depicted in the Scriptures. In doing so, it's essential to examine the significant role that prayer played in her journey, as well as her readiness to dedicate to God what she cherished most deeply.

This morning, we observe Mother's Day by reflecting on the life of Hannah, one of the most devoted mothers depicted in the Scriptures. In doing so, it's esse...

United Together As One

In Ephesians 4:1-6, Paul emphasizes the necessity of unity among believers as a response to their shared identity in Christ. The Apostle urges each one of us to embody traits such as humility, gentleness, and patience. These virtues cultivate an environment where unity can thrive amidst diversity.

Cultivating the Heavenly Light

In 1 John 1:5-7, the Apostle John brings to light a profound truth: Jesus Christ embodies the light that shatters the darkness enveloping our lives. To nurture this divine light, believers are called to actively cultivate qualities such as obedience, love, and truth within themselves. For those who have faith in Jesus Christ, this illuminating light serves to cleanse and eradicate the shadows of sin, allowing them to walk in clarity and righteousness.
