First Evangelical Free Church of Franklin County

First Evangelical Free Church of Franklin County Seeking daily sanctification we pursue the motto of, "Loving God, Loving People, Making Disciples."

In a world where more and more churches look like country clubs for saints, we desire to be a hospital for those sick with sin - those who recognize their own failures and the greatness of God to forgive and restore.

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable. ~Psalm 145:3

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God showed how much He loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. ~1 John 4:7-11
Father, teach me to love others; not with the superficial love of the world but with the sacrificial love You demonstrated in redeeming us and making us a part of Your family....teach me to imitate the love of Jesus. Amen.

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. [Ephesians 2:18-19]

I will be glad and rejoice in Thee; I will sing praise to Thy name, O Thou most High. ~Psalm 9:2.
Let us seek the grace of a cheerful heart, an even temper, sweetness, gentleness, and brightness of mind, as walking in His light, and by His grace. Let us pray to Him to give us the spirit of ever-abundant, ever-springing love, which overpowers and sweeps away the vexations of life by its own richness and strength, and which, above all things, unites us to Him who is the fountain and the center of all mercy, loving-kindness, and joy. [John Henry Newman].

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. ~Ephesians 2:10
God has a habit of using those the world views as ordinary to perform His greatest miracles. The Bible makes it clear that we are exceptional to God, designed with the purpose of doing exceptional things for His kingdom.
Be the masterpiece you were intended to be!

I meditate on all Your works and consider what Your hands have done. I spread out my hands to You; I thirst for You like a parched land. Answer me quickly, LORD; my spirit fails. Do not hide Your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. ~ Psalm 143:5-8

"Abram pitched his tent between Bethel and Ai." Bethel means "the house of God"; Ai means "ruin." This is just where we must live the Christian life, ever looking either to the things of God or to the ruin of the flesh. We can choose to go to Bethel or to Ai, to Christ or self - it can never be both. [Ray Stedman]
Father, help me to fix my eyes on Jesus, the One who leads me to the House of God and away from the ruin of this world. Amen.

By His Divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the One who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. ~ 2 Peter 1:3

Father, help me to identify the many gods of this age that appear to be so attractive but really have nothing of lasting value to offer me . Thank You for the truth that is in Christ and that in Him I have all that I could ever need or want. Amen.

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. ~ Ephesians 6:17
The health of our souls requires that we take the whole Bible as it stands and let it do its work in us. We cannot afford to be selective with anything so important as the Word of God and our own eternal future.
We are engaged in warfare with unseen powers for which God has equipped us with armor. The major offensive piece is the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. We desperately require the whole sword and not just a piece of it! [AW Tozer]
Thank You, Lord, that I have in a language I understand the whole Bible. What a treasure! May I fully explore and utilize all of it. Amen.

“In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son.” (Hebrews 1:1-2)
Whenever we find ourselves longing to hear the voice of God—wanting to know if we’re doing the right thing, or yearning to know that we are not alone—we must remember this: We have in Scripture thousands and thousands of expressions of the will and the ways of God. We have an analysis of life that is complex and refined, giving us concrete moral instruction and wisdom-based ethics. We have “the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16). We have the “wisdom from above” (James 3:17 ). We have “Spirit-taught words” (1 Corinthians 2:13).
Do you want to hear God’s voice? Then take in what He says in his Word. Drink deeply. Study well. Meditate slowly. Keep starting over....There is only one way to receive the pure and powerful truth of God—and that is to seek to understand what the Bible meant so we can apply what it means to our lives today.
