Did you know today is nine months from the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception? Which means today we celebrate Our Lady's birthday!
As we commemorate Our Lady's birth, let's celebrate and give honor to her by offering a Rosary to her as a birthday gift. You can also celebrate her birthday by baking a birthday cake (or cupcakes), and decorate the table with white or blue flowers.

This Labor Day, we get a day off from work. But real rest is not sitting in idleness. In "Rerum Novarum," Pope Leo XIII reminds us that true rest is where we rest from our labors and turn our attention back to God, the one our work is meant to glorify.
This Labor Day, take time today to honor the fruits of your labor, give thanks to God for the talents he gave you for your work, and spend this day in holy rest (Mass, adoration, prayer) and recreation.

This will be a great convention this year with some excellent pro-life speakers, including Sr. Dede Byrne, who is a world -renowned Catholic nun, missionary, surgeon, and retired military colonel. Plan to attend all or part of the convention. Friday evening is free. Saturday is $35 and includes 2 meals. Youth are also invited and there will be a special lunch session for them from 10am-2pm. There will be an exhibit hall with pro-life displays, books, activities and a raffle.

Today we celebrate perhaps the most well-known modern-day saint in the world. A tiny woman who lived in a poor country and cared for the least among us. She did not seek fame, but in many ways it found her anyway. She also found criticism from some because she did not do her work the way they thought she should. She did her work anyway.
This is of course, Mother Teresa.
And while she is a saint today, and many could see she was holy during her lifetime, she struggled greatly. Most people did not know about her struggles until after her death in 1997. Click below to learn about her most difficult trial.
