Rebellion says, “ I will not do it.”
Stubbornness says, “I will do it my way.”

We tend to think of rebellion against God as something big and obvious. But sometimes it looks a lot more familiar. God speaks and we decide that our opinions, emotions, feelings and our own way gets the final say.

That’s why Scripture draws such a strong connection between rebellion and witchcraft, as well as stubbornness and idolatry. At the heart of both is the same question: WHO GETS TO RULE?

Following Jesus means surrendering our right to always have it our way and choosing to live under His authority.

“…What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols.” 1 Samuel 15:22-23

It's not IF you face trials. It's WHEN.

When the test comes, let your joy spring up!

Joy is hooked up to faith. Faith is hooked up to patience. And patience keeps you moving toward the promise.

Joy born out of trouble isn't about pretending everything is okay. It's choosing to trust God in the middle of it. Don't let the test steal your joy!

"Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." James 1:2-4

Tomorrow is the 5th Sunday, which means it’s FAMILY SERVICE!

There will be no FTC kids classes tomorrow as we give our amazing Kids Team a Sunday to rest and invite our whole church family to worship together.

Kids will join their parents in the sanctuary for service. As always, our Family Room will be available for parents and little ones who may need some extra space during service.

We can’t wait to worship with you tomorrow whether that’s in-person or online!

You can’t cast it and carry it.

Casting your cares on God, but constantly worrying about them, is like giving someone your phone and then snatching it back every time it rings.

We say we trust God but how often do we give something up to him in prayer only to pick the worry back up? Surrender means trusting him with outcome even when we don’t know what the outcome will be.

​Today, let whatever you gave Him stay with Him.

True love isn't a transaction—and far too often, we confuse conditional affection with the real thing.

​That isn't Biblical love. Agape love isn't based on performance, mood, or reciprocity. Agape occurs when we look at someone, recognize their God-given value, and choose to cherish them regardless of how they respond. It sees value where the world sees flaws.

​When we realize how far short our conditional love falls, it points to a deeper truth: we simply don't love Jesus enough. If we fully understood the unconditional, undeserved Agape love He poured out for us, it would completely transform how we treat the people right in front of us.

​Let’s drop the conditions and start loving the way He loved us first.
