ALIVE: The Church After The Resurrection
Week 2 - Turn Around: A Changed Life
Scripture Readings: Acts 2:14a, 36-41
Psalm 116:1-4,12-19 • 1 Peter 1:17-23
Luke 24:13-35

There’s a difference between knowing something . . . and being changed by it.

The disciples on the road to Emmaus had heard the news.

The tomb was empty, Jesus was alive. . .
but they were still walking in confusion.
Until suddenly, their eyes were opened.
And everything changed.

In Acts, we see the same thing happen again.
The people hear the truth about Jesus -
and they are cut to the heart.

Not just informed but transformed.

And they ask the question that matters:
“What shall we do?”

The answer is simple but not always easy: Turn.
Turn away from what was.
Turn toward Christ.
Turn into the new life He is offering.

Because resurrection isn’t just something we celebrate. . . it’s something we respond to.

So today, ask yourself:
Where is Jesus calling me to turn?

Lord Jesus, open my eyes to see You clearly.
Show me where I need to turn, and give me the courage to follow You. Lead me into the new life You have for me, a life shaped by Your truth and filled with Your grace. Amen.

ALIVE: The Church After the Resurrection
Week 1: Alive Again - From Fear to Faith
Scripture Readings: John 20:19-31
Acts 2:14a, 22-33 • 1 Peter 1:3-9 • Psalm 16

Last week, we celebrated the empty tomb - Christ is risen!

But the disciples? They were still afraid… hiding behind locked doors.

And if we’re honest, we know that feeling.
We believe—yet still worry.
We trust—yet still hold back.

But the good news is this:
Jesus doesn’t wait for our fear to go away.
He comes to us right in the middle of it
and speaks peace.

Even Thomas, in his doubt, wasn’t pushed away
he was invited closer.

Because faith isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about moving toward Jesus, even when we’re unsure.

So this week, ask yourself:
Where am I still holding the door closed?
And what might happen if I let Jesus meet me there?

Loving Savior, Thank You for meeting me right where I am - even in my fear and uncertainty. Help me to trust You more, to open my heart to You, and to walk in the peace You give. Grow my faith and draw me closer to You. Amen.

At early dawn, they went to the tomb
expecting death… but found it empty.

“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here… He has risen.”

And that truth is still alive today.

The cross was not the end -
it was the cost of love.

The tomb was not the end -
it was only the waiting.

The resurrection?
That is the victory!

Because Jesus is alive.
Because the tomb is empty.
Because hope is real.

Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed!

Hosanna in the highest!

Today we remember the day Jesus entered Jerusalem - not as a conquering king, but as a humble Savior. The crowds welcomed Him with praise, waving palm branches and laying them down before Him.

As we begin Holy Week, may we open our hearts to welcome Him - not just with words, but with lives that follow Him.

Hosanna. . . Lord, save us!

From Dust to Breath
Week 5: The Breath
Scripture Readings: Ezekiel 37:1-14,
Psalm 130, Romans 8:6-11, John 11:1-45

Sometimes what feels broken in our lives doesn’t just need fixing - it feels lifeless.

We carry places that seem dry, worn down, or beyond hope. Places where we’ve waited, prayed, and wondered if anything could ever change... But the story does not end there.

In the valley of dry bones, God speaks.
At the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus calls.
And what was dead… begins to live again.

God does not simply improve what is broken- He brings life to what is dead.

The same Spirit that raised Christ is still at work today - still moving, still restoring, still breathing life into the places we thought were finished.

This week, we are invited to name one place that feels “dead”… and to pray resurrection over it.

Where breath has been lost, God is breathing again. Where hope has faded, God is awakening new life.

Lord, breathe into us again. Amen.
