Jer 31:1-14 “At that time,” declares the LORD, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be my people.”
This is what the LORD says:
“The people who survive the sword
will find favor in the wilderness;
I will come to give rest to Israel.”
The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying:
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.
I will build you up again,
and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt.
Again you will take up your timbrels
and go out to dance with the joyful.
Again you will plant vineyards
on the hills of Samaria;
the farmers will plant them
and enjoy their fruit.
There will be a day when watchmen cry out
on the hills of Ephraim,
‘Come, let us go up to Zion,
to the LORD our God.’”

This is what the LORD says:
“Sing with joy for Jacob;
shout for the foremost of the nations.
Make your praises heard, and say,
‘LORD, save your people,
the remnant of Israel.’
See, I will bring them from the land of the north
and gather them from the ends of the earth.
Among them will be the blind and the lame,
expectant mothers and women in labor;
a great throng will return.
They will come with weeping;
they will pray as I bring them back.
I will lead them beside streams of water
on a level path where they will not stumble,
because I am Israel’s father,
and Ephraim is my firstborn son.
“Hear the word of the LORD, you nations;
proclaim it in distant coastlands:
‘He who scattered Israel will gather them
and will watch over his flock like a shepherd.’
For the LORD will deliver Jacob
and redeem them from the hand of those stronger than they.
They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion;
they will rejoice in the bounty of the LORD—
the grain, the new wine and the olive oil,
the young of the flocks and herds.
They will be like a well-watered garden,
and they will sorrow no more.
Then young women will dance and be glad,
young men and old as well.
I will turn their mourning into gladness;
I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.
I will satisfy the priests with abundance,
and my people will be filled with my bounty, ”
declares the LORD.

When a lost person comes to the Lord and accepts the gift of salvation, there is joy in his or her heart and soul, but there is even more joy in Heaven. The Lord and the angels celebrate each new addition to God’s family. The saved person may not fully understand all that God has for them, but our Lord has so much more He is waiting to share, a life long love and guidance, help through hard times, joy during good times and a lifetime of walking right along side with us and sometimes even carrying us when we feel we can’t go on. Sharing with us His Holy Spirit and sending angels to help us along this pathway of life. He loves us even though we may not feel love for ourselves at times. Helping us stay humble when that human pride wants to make us full of ourselves. Surrounding us with blessings and love that we should never take for granted.

Lord, my words can never express my gratitude and love I have for You and all You provide. May my life and actions reflect my appreciation and love for You. Amen

Jer 30:12-24 “This is what the LORD says:
“‘Your wound is incurable,
your injury beyond healing.
There is no one to plead your cause,
no remedy for your sore,
no healing for you.
All your allies have forgotten you;
they care nothing for you.
I have struck you as an enemy would
and punished you as would the cruel,
because your guilt is so great
and your sins so many.
Why do you cry out over your wound,
your pain that has no cure?
Because of your great guilt and many sins
I have done these things to you.
“‘But all who devour you will be devoured;
all your enemies will go into exile.
Those who plunder you will be plundered;
all who make spoil of you I will despoil.
But I will restore you to health
and heal your wounds,’
declares the LORD,
‘because you are called an outcast,
Zion for whom no one cares.’
“This is what the LORD says:
“‘I will restore the fortunes of Jacob’s tents
and have compassion on his dwellings;
the city will be rebuilt on her ruins,
and the palace will stand in its proper place.
From them will come songs of thanksgiving
and the sound of rejoicing.
I will add to their numbers,
and they will not be decreased;
I will bring them honor,
and they will not be disdained.
Their children will be as in days of old,
and their community will be established before me;
I will punish all who oppress them.
Their leader will be one of their own;
their ruler will arise from among them.
I will bring him near and he will come close to me—
for who is he who will devote himself
to be close to me?’
declares the LORD.
“‘So you will be my people,
and I will be your God. ’”
See, the storm of the LORD
will burst out in wrath,
a driving wind swirling down
on the heads of the wicked.
The fierce anger of the LORD will not turn back
until he fully accomplishes
the purposes of his heart.
In days to come
you will understand this.

Our Lord will let us deal with the consequences of our disobedience, but if we turn from that disobedience and ask for forgiveness, he will bless us. I’m not saying that all who suffer things in life have been disobedient toward God, because over our life time, things happen. Injuries, illness and relationship problems and so on happen to believers as they do to nonbelievers. The difference between is, God helps and guides believers get through it and nonbelievers struggle on their own because they chose to not believe in the one true God. It does make a difference!

Lord, I’m Thankful for all You have done and the blessings You share with me. May the lost soon know and accept Your blessings also. Amen

Jer 29:10-23 This is what the LORD says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
You may say, “The LORD has raised up prophets for us in Babylon,” but this is what the LORD says about the king who sits on David’s throne and all the people who remain in this city, your fellow citizens who did not go with you into exile— yes, this is what the LORD Almighty says: “I will send the sword, famine and plague against them and I will make them like figs that are so bad they cannot be eaten. I will pursue them with the sword, famine and plague and will make them abhorrent to all the kingdoms of the earth, a curse and an object of horror, of scorn and reproach, among all the nations where I drive them. For they have not listened to my words,” declares the LORD, “words that I sent to them again and again by my servants the prophets. And you exiles have not listened either,” declares the LORD.
Therefore, hear the word of the LORD, all you exiles whom I have sent away from Jerusalem to Babylon. This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says about Ahab son of Kolaiah and Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying lies to you in my name: “I will deliver them into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will put them to death before your very eyes. Because of them, all the exiles from Judah who are in Babylon will use this curse: ‘May the LORD treat you like Zedekiah and Ahab, whom the king of Babylon burned in the fire.’ For they have done outrageous things in Israel; they have committed adultery with their neighbors’ wives, and in my name they have uttered lies—which I did not authorize. I know it and am a witness to it,” declares the LORD.

God has done many things and many more are coming. His desire is for all to repent and accept His forgiveness provided by the sacrifice of Christ Jesus. He desires all of us to live a blessed life in and world of peace and love. That world is coming soon. Will you be a part of it?

Lord, I pray for the lost souls who ignore the word of Christ Jesus and Father God, may they finally believe it and accept His forgiveness. Amen

Jer 27:12-22 I gave the same message to Zedekiah king of Judah. I said, “Bow your neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon; serve him and his people, and you will live. Why will you and your people die by the sword, famine and plague with which the LORD has threatened any nation that will not serve the king of Babylon? Do not listen to the words of the prophets who say to you, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon,’ for they are prophesying lies to you. ‘I have not sent them,’ declares the LORD. ‘They are prophesying lies in my name. Therefore, I will banish you and you will perish, both you and the prophets who prophesy to you.’”
Then I said to the priests and all these people, “This is what the LORD says: Do not listen to the prophets who say, ‘Very soon now the articles from the LORD’s house will be brought back from Babylon.’ They are prophesying lies to you. Do not listen to them. Serve the king of Babylon, and you will live. Why should this city become a ruin? If they are prophets and have the word of the LORD, let them plead with the LORD Almighty that the articles remaining in the house of the LORD and in the palace of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem not be taken to Babylon. For this is what the LORD Almighty says about the pillars, the bronze Sea, the movable stands and the other articles that are left in this city, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take away when he carried Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim king of Judah into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon, along with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem— yes, this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says about the things that are left in the house of the LORD and in the palace of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem: ‘They will be taken to Babylon and there they will remain until the day I come for them,’ declares the LORD. ‘Then I will bring them back and restore them to this place.’”

Our Lord does work in mysterious ways to us. We may question the way He does some things, but He knows what He is doing. He understands us humans and what will help us better understand Him and His ways. He is, at times, a tough love parent that has to deal with a very stubborn child. Once we better understand the ways of God, we can better serve Him and stop thinking like a stubborn child and be more intune with the Holy Spirit. It doesn’t make life or us perfect, but it does help us stay on the path God has for us.

Lord, I may not always understand why You allow or do some things, but I trust in You fully. May I always listen and follow the guidance You provide. Amen

Jer 26:10-19 When the officials of Judah heard about these things, they went up from the royal palace to the house of the LORD and took their places at the entrance of the New Gate of the LORD’s house. Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and all the people, “This man should be sentenced to death because he has prophesied against this city. You have heard it with your own ears!”
Then Jeremiah said to all the officials and all the people: “The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the things you have heard. Now reform your ways and your actions and obey the LORD your God. Then the LORD will relent and not bring the disaster he has pronounced against you. As for me, I am in your hands; do with me whatever you think is good and right. Be assured, however, that if you put me to death, you will bring the guilt of innocent blood on yourselves and on this city and on those who live in it, for in truth the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing.”
Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and the prophets, “This man should not be sentenced to death! He has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.”
Some of the elders of the land stepped forward and said to the entire assembly of people, “Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. He told all the people of Judah, ‘This is what the LORD Almighty says:
“‘Zion will be plowed like a field,
Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble,
the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets.’
“Did Hezekiah king of Judah or anyone else in Judah put him to death? Did not Hezekiah fear the LORD and seek his favor? And did not the LORD relent, so that he did not bring the disaster he pronounced against them? We are about to bring a terrible disaster on ourselves!”

The great thing about God’s word is, many hear it and instantly recognize the truth of it, some others take a little more time to finally accept it. Others know it’s true, but want to live without it for a while, but will come to accept it later, if they live that long. Sadly, to many will never believe or accept God’s truth.

Lord, please help those see and accept Your truth and gift of forgiveness. May they join with us in helping others hear about and understand the Gospel and the blessings that are freely given to those who belong to the family of God. Amen

Jer 26:1-9 Early in the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came from the LORD: “This is what the LORD says: Stand in the courtyard of the LORD’s house and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the LORD. Tell them everything I command you; do not omit a word. Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from their evil ways. Then I will relent and not inflict on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done. Say to them, ‘This is what the LORD says: If you do not listen to me and follow my law, which I have set before you, and if you do not listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I have sent to you again and again (though you have not listened ), then I will make this house like Shiloh and this city a curse among all the nations of the earth.’”
The priests, the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speak these words in the house of the LORD. But as soon as Jeremiah finished telling all the people everything the LORD had commanded him to say, the priests, the prophets and all the people seized him and said, “You must die! Why do you prophesy in the LORD’s name that this house will be like Shiloh and this city will be desolate and deserted?” And all the people crowded around Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.

Why don’t people listen?! The root of all sin and evil is pride. People are to prideful to believe there is a God and that He knows them better than they know themselves. To many people have a “No one, even God, is going to tell me how to live!” attitude. I have that attitude at times concerning HOAs and government overreach, but not about God. I know, without any doubt, that God knows much better than me about everything, including how I should live. My Lord saved my life from a life of self indulgence foolish choices and addiction. He can save yours also. Our Lord can and will save you and help you overcome the sin in your life. You just need to allow Him into your life, soul and heart.

Lord, I pray that lost souls admit they are a sinner and repent of his or her sin. I pray they accept Your gift of forgiveness and turn from their wicked ways. I pray they make You Lord over themselves and allow Your Holy Spirit to guide them in all they do. Amen

Jer 25:27-31 “Then tell them, ‘This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk and vomit, and fall to rise no more because of the sword I will send among you.’ But if they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink, tell them, ‘This is what the LORD Almighty says: You must drink it! See, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that bears my Name, and will you indeed go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword on all who live on the earth, declares the LORD Almighty.’
“Now prophesy all these words against them and say to them:
“‘The LORD will roar from on high;
he will thunder from his holy dwelling
and roar mightily against his land.
He will shout like those who tread the grapes,
shout against all who live on the earth.
The tumult will resound to the ends of the earth,
for the LORD will bring charges against the nations;
he will bring judgment on all mankind
and put the wicked to the sword, ’”
declares the LORD.

Time is running as the world ignores God’s warnings. There are many happening right now! How long do we have before He has had enough, only He knows. However long it is before He comes to take His children home, we should be about His business and sharing His word of love and grace with all we can. We shouldn’t worry or fret over His return. We should welcome it and help others to fully understand what it will mean to finally live in a world God desired in the first place.

Lord, may I be found doing Your business when You return to take Your children home. Guide me to help others join the family of God. Amen

Jer 25:1-14 The word came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, which was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. So Jeremiah the prophet said to all the people of Judah and to all those living in Jerusalem: For twenty-three years—from the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah until this very day—the word of the LORD has come to me and I have spoken to you again and again, but you have not listened.
And though the LORD has sent all his servants the prophets to you again and again, you have not listened or paid any attention. They said, “Turn now, each of you, from your evil ways and your evil practices, and you can stay in the land the LORD gave to you and your ancestors for ever and ever. Do not follow other gods to serve and worship them; do not arouse my anger with what your hands have made. Then I will not harm you.”
“But you did not listen to me,” declares the LORD, “and you have aroused my anger with what your hands have made, and you have brought harm to yourselves.”
Therefore the LORD Almighty says this: “Because you have not listened to my words, I will summon all the peoples of the north and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon,” declares the LORD, “and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and scorn, and an everlasting ruin. I will banish from them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, the sound of millstones and the light of the lamp. This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
“But when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt,” declares the LORD, “and will make it desolate forever. I will bring on that land all the things I have spoken against it, all that are written in this book and prophesied by Jeremiah against all the nations. They themselves will be enslaved by many nations and great kings; I will repay them according to their deeds and the work of their hands.”

Again, God did what He said and took His blessing off the Jews because of their continued sin. God hasn’t changed and is still warning us and the rest of the world. We return to Him or we suffer the consequences of Him removing His blessings. We all know people, maybe it was us at one time, that ignore warnings of punishment from parents or law enforcement for continuing to do things they shouldn’t. They were warned the consequences would be enforced if they didn’t stop, but they continued. The parents or law enforcement then enforced the consequences of punishment. The person on the receiving end of the punishment are shocked. Why me, why am I being punished?! I shouldn’t be punished, I’m not that bad or what I did isn’t that bad! We see that very thing happening in today’s world and the world will see the consequences of its continued sin if it doesn’t heed the warnings of our Father God.

Lord, please help us to see the sin as sin and the wrongs as wrongs. Help us turn from our sins and accept the salvation You offer. Amen

Jer 23:21-24 I did not send these prophets,
yet they have run with their message;
I did not speak to them,
yet they have prophesied.
But if they had stood in my council,
they would have proclaimed my words to my people
and would have turned them from their evil ways
and from their evil deeds.
“Am I only a God nearby, ”
declares the LORD,
“and not a God far away?
Who can hide in secret places
so that I cannot see them?”
declares the LORD.
“Do not I fill heaven and earth?”
declares the LORD.

Our Lord sees everything because He is Omnipresent and can do anything because He is Omnipotent. We sometimes tend to put God in a “box” and in our mind, limit what He can do. I’m not sure why, because, He can do anything, literally. Our Lord has done and will do some mind blowing things. Just look around, He made everything you see. Every baby that is conceived, every tree, creature, drop of water, everything, is a creation of God. God made paradise and humans messed it up by doing the one thing He asked them not to do. We no longer live in paradise, but if we accept God’s gift of salvation, we will. Meanwhile, we should make the best of here and now, by utilizing all that our Lord offers. Let the Holy Spirit be your guide in all you do and say.

Lord, may every child of Yours stand in unison as one body to make America once again the shining light on the hill. May we all unite to help everyone in the world truly be free and a child of the one true God. Amen

11/03/2024

Jer 23:1-8 “Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!” declares the LORD. Therefore this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says to the shepherds who tend my people: “Because you have scattered my flock and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil you have done,” declares the LORD. “I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number. I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or terrified, nor will any be missing, ” declares the LORD.
“The days are coming,” declares the LORD,
“when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch,
a King who will reign wisely
and do what is just and right in the land.
In his days Judah will be saved
and Israel will live in safety.
This is the name by which he will be called:
The LORD Our Righteous Savior.
“So then, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when people will no longer say, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’ but they will say, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the descendants of Israel up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ Then they will live in their own land.”

God did that very thing in 1948. Over 2000 years ago Christ Jesus was born to become the only true King of the world. Sadly, many still don’t understand all He came to do and did. Many are still waiting for the savior. He walked with and spoke to many for three years of ministry before He was tortured and killed, only to raise again to truly pay our sin debt and overcome death. God’s plan is still playing out, but time is running out and soon Christ will return to take all who have accepted His gift of salvation. Are you ready?

Lord, please help those who refuse to believe Your truth to finally understand it and accept it before it’s too late for them. Amen

Jer 22:20-27 “Go up to Lebanon and cry out,
let your voice be heard in Bashan,
cry out from Abarim,
for all your allies are crushed.
I warned you when you felt secure,
but you said, ‘I will not listen!’
This has been your way from your youth;
you have not obeyed me.
The wind will drive all your shepherds away,
and your allies will go into exile.
Then you will be ashamed and disgraced
because of all your wickedness.
You who live in ‘Lebanon, ’
who are nestled in cedar buildings,
how you will groan when pangs come upon you,
pain like that of a woman in labor!
“As surely as I live,” declares the LORD, “even if you, Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, were a signet ring on my right hand, I would still pull you off. I will deliver you into the hands of those who want to kill you, those you fear—Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and the Babylonians. I will hurl you and the mother who gave you birth into another country, where neither of you was born, and there you both will die. You will never come back to the land you long to return to.”

Have you ever gave someone a chance, maybe many, to make a wrong, right? How did they do? When they failed again, did you hate them for it or were you disappointed in them, but still loved them? Our Lord is the best example of tough love there is. He allows logical earthly consequences to choices we make, while we are alive and allows the one of two consequences when we die, Heaven or Hell.
During the time these verses speak of, our Lord protected the Jews when they honored and lived as the Lord asked of them. However, once they turned away from God and chose sin over God, He removed His protection and allowed logical consequences to happen. He still does today. How does our Lord protect us today? His protection doesn’t mean that our lives, minds and bodies are perfect, we’re not. Adam and Eve caused that protection to be removed. He gives us strength to make it through the issues of life, health problems, relationship, financial, employment, self esteem issues and many more. He shares His wisdom to help us overcome doubt and the evil that constantly attacks us. He freely shares His love to help us love ourselves and others as He loves us. The primary question is, do you allow Him to help you, or do you always try and do it on you on? It didn’t work out very well for the Jews back then and it usually doesn’t work out well for those who turn their back on God today. How about letting Him help you help yourself. Accept His gift of salvation. Just say and mean the following;
Lord I’m a sinner. I repent from my sin and ask You to forgive me and become Lord over my life. Please forgive me and use me. Help me follow the path You ask of me. Amen

Jer 22:15-19 “Does it make you a king
to have more and more cedar?
Did not your father have food and drink?
He did what was right and just,
so all went well with him.
He defended the cause of the poor and needy,
and so all went well.
Is that not what it means to know me?”
declares the Lord.
“But your eyes and your heart
are set only on dishonest gain,
on shedding innocent blood
and on oppression and extortion.”
Therefore this is what the Lord says about Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:
“They will not mourn for him:
‘Alas, my brother! Alas, my sister!’
They will not mourn for him:
‘Alas, my master! Alas, his splendor!’
He will have the burial of a donkey–
dragged away and thrown
outside the gates of Jerusalem.”

Our Lord desires for everyone to accept His gift of salvation and love, but many refuse. No matter how hard we try to convince them, they still refuse to believe and will not accept Him. They think they can't see Him, hear Him or touch Him, so He's not real. They don't understand how a true believer sees Him all around in everything good and beautiful. How a true believer does hear Him deep in their heart and soul all the time, because the Holy Spirit speaks and guides them daily. They fail to understand how a true believer is touched by God in many ways throughout his or her life. They can't understand how by not believing in the one true God, they, by default, believe and follow satan.

Lord, please, help to open their soul to allow Your light to drive out the evil just long enough, so they can see, hear Your truth and be touched by Your love. Amen
