Selichot is one of our favorite nights of the year. Join us for an evening of learning, reflection, music, and prayer as we prepare our hearts for the High Holy Days.

At 7:45 PM, Rabbi Adam will be in conversation with Rabbi Mark Borovitz, founder of Beit T’Shuvah Recovery Center and author of The Holy Thief: A Con Man’s Journey from Darkness to Light. Rabbi Borovitz’s remarkable journey from addiction and incarceration to recovery and spiritual leadership is a powerful testament to the possibility of change and teshuvah.

Then, at 9:45 PM, we’ll gather in the round for our candlelit HAL’LU Selichot Service with Cantor Amy, Carl Cedar, Leeav Sofer, Anasia Hitzeman, and members of our Community Choir.

Don’t miss this very special night at CBI.

Glad to support our friends at Rady Children's Health - Orange County with a collection of siddurim and Jewish books to help support families during their stay. As CHOC takes care of the healing of body, may these books add to healing of spirit.

Tonight, Wednesday, July 22, we sit on the floor in the dark to chant the Book of Lamentations and remember Yerushalayim. Join us at 8:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Tomorrow evening, we gather at 6:30 p.m. to pray, read Torah, and learn together, then conclude the fast with a light dinner.

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom—and a reminder that the work of justice is never truly finished.

We are grateful that Micayla De Ette shared her extraordinary voice at Congregation B’nai Israel’s recent America, The Beautiful concert, singing Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come.”
