Writing in Your Siddur with Hazzan Amy is back!

The words of our liturgy can sometimes feel overwhelming. This class is designed to help you understand the overall flow of our prayers, while learning how to focus on meaningful portions of the text along the way.

This fall, we’ll turn our attention to Shabbat Shacharit, exploring the structure of the morning service and taking a closer look at some of the prayers within it. No previous experience—or participation in last year’s class—is necessary.

We’ll meet Sundays, November 1–22, from 1:30–3:30 p.m.

Registration link below. Each participant will receive their own copy of Siddur Lev Shalem to write in and make their own. If you participated last year, bring your siddur back with you—we’ll be adding plenty more notes to it!

And don’t forget your pencil. 😊

Once a year on Simchat Torah, we open our Czech Torah—a scroll that survived the Shoah—and read from it as we celebrate that Torah is alive in our community. 💙💙

Selichot is one of our favorite nights of the year. Join us for an evening of learning, reflection, music, and prayer as we prepare our hearts for the High Holy Days.

At 7:45 PM, Rabbi Adam will be in conversation with Rabbi Mark Borovitz, founder of Beit T’Shuvah Recovery Center and author of The Holy Thief: A Con Man’s Journey from Darkness to Light. Rabbi Borovitz’s remarkable journey from addiction and incarceration to recovery and spiritual leadership is a powerful testament to the possibility of change and teshuvah.

Then, at 9:45 PM, we’ll gather in the round for our candlelit HAL’LU Selichot Service with Cantor Amy, Carl Cedar, Leeav Sofer, Anasia Hitzeman, and members of our Community Choir.

Don’t miss this very special night at CBI.
